Thank you for making a happy place for the residents
My mother in law has advanced vascular dementia and all the staff including the management do an absolutely amazing job of managing an extremely difficult illness. She's much happier and settled now she's in this care home and we no longer have any concerns knowing she's in such good hands.
I would highly recommend Bedewell Grange Care Home, our mam has dementia and has recently moved to the care home as a permanent resident. The residence is beautifully decorated and presented, it is spotlessly clean, mam has a lovely room with her own bathroom. Residents are encouraged to personalise the rooms with photos and other belongings. The staff are so friendly and the care they provide is exceptional, the food is lovely and mam is really enjoying this, in addition to meals the residents (and visitors) are provided with regular hot drinks and treats. There are regular activities, mam recently attended the VE Day celebration. There is also a salon providing hair, nail etc treatments the salon is open one day a week, mam has loved having her hair and nails done. Mam feels safe, secure and familiar here and has made a couple of friends. My sister, brother & I are so happy that we chose Bedewell Grange for mam.
My father is 70 and has Parkinsons Dementia and poor mobility. After years of my Mum looking after him 24/7, she needed to go away for a couple of months for her own mental health. Originally our social worker had arranged a craehomw for us nearby, but after 1 night he hated it and wanted to leave. Luckily there was a room available here at Bedewell. I can't praise the staff enough for the care they provided, making him welcome, accommodating and engaging with him even though there was a language barrier. They gave him a little party and birthday cake for his 70th and some very happy memories. He's missing them already now he's home, but if we ever need a care home agin, Bedewell would be our first choice. Lovely surroundings, great staff and service. Thank you so much for taking the pressure from us.
The Bedewell grange care home is outstanding in my experience, my mum who has dementia is there as a permanent resident and the care she receives from the staff is exceptional, the decor is beautiful and it's always spotless clean. The food is nutritious and lovely, there's always lovely treats for the residents in the coffee room. Mums settled in so well and she really likes being there and says she always feels safe. She loves all the lovely activities they put on for the residents and she's made a few friends in there. I'm so happy I chose this care home for her. Lovely place.
Our brother was in hospital for 14 weeks after suffering a bleed on the brain in which it affected his speech and a little of his concentration. We we're informed by the consultant that he needed 24 hour care, so then we looked at Barchester Bedewell Grange Care Home, as soon as I walked in the care home we felt a warmth, the management, activities, housekeepers, chefs and fabulous care staff go above and beyond in making our brother feel like their family member. I work in a care home and Bedewell Grange is a great choice of residential and dementia care.
This care facility deserves the best possible review! Mum has been a resident since Easter and has no time in her life now to be lonely, sad or miss her independence. She is continually encouraged to join in the fabulous activities so carefully planned and executed. The carers, managers and activity coordinators are fabulous and nothing, at all, is too much trouble for them. There is a new cleaner who Mum has high praise for. I had no idea such wonderful places existed and we are delighted we are lucky enough to have Mum in their excellent, caring hands. Thank you so much Barchester Bedewell Grange Care Home. If any prospective relatives want to chat to me, I would be delighted to share my thoughts with them.
Our family was told our mam/nana was no longer safe to live alone and to source alternate accommodation. We had never dealt with this before and really didn't know where to begin, after lots of research we opted for Barchester Bedewell Grange Care Home on a respite basis. After a few weeks this was made permanent due to the care and professionalism of the staff. From day one, all members of staff and residents made our mam/nana extremely comfortable, quickly turning her into a social butterfly. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who go above and beyond not only for her but for our family. The accommodation is immaculate and has a real sense of a family environment with lots of activities to keep her stimulated.
Due to distance, this was our first visit since our friend arrived from hospital. We were very impressed with the building's condition. It was very clean and obviously well looked after. All the staff were professional, polite, friendly and helpful, including the manager who spoke with a genuine love for the residents and found time to speak with us and allay our worries. Our friend was very happy there and there seemed genuine affection for him to make his stay happier.
I have found Bedewell Grange to be an amazing care home. It is such a happy and supportive place. My mother has thrived in the environment here. She is cared for by the most caring and professional staff you could wish for and nothing is ever a bother to them. There is such a great community feeling and residents can join in many varied activities. I could not wish for a better place for her.
My brother was moved from another care home in the area because we thought he wasn't being well looked after, what a difference this has made to him! His care team are supportive and forthcoming with information about my brother. He is so much happier here. He was here as a temporary measure, but we are requesting that he stay here permenantly.
My mam has been in this care home since the middle of November 2023. Everyone is very helpful and if I ever have a problem it is dealt with quickly and efficiently. It was a hard decision to put my mam into care, but I can now sleep at night knowing she is well looked after if she is poorly or anything is wrong and I am always informed immediately.
Staff are generally lovely to Grandmother and us however grandmother herself and her room are often dirty and left that way and her bed is often filthy. This is becoming very distressing for family members as Grandmother has dementia and is unable to clean or remember she should bathe regularly.
My dad, unfortunately, had a stroke in February 2020, it has been so debilitating for him and heartbreaking for our family. Dad came to Barchester Bedewell Grange Care Home in December 2022, until the present time. His care has been undoubtedly the most kind and dignified through his time here, he has hugs from staff, he is thought of very highly from management and throughout each department. I am so pleased we chose Barchester Bedewell Grange Care Home.
We chose Bedewell Grange Hebburn for respite care for my mother-in-law after a hospital stay. Since her arrival the level of care is outstanding. We are very confident that each and every member of staff are working hard to ensure she is happy and settled. It is apparent that management is excellent and this ripples through to all the team who clearly enjoy working at Bedewell Grange. The team communicate well and regularly and all requests are fulfilled in a timely way. We feel that nothing is too much trouble for staff despite them being busy. The facility is always spotless, our family member is always clean and well-dressed and her room and bedding fresh and clean. We really appreciate the efforts of everyone involved in her care.
This care home cares. My grandad sadly had a cerebral stroke following his Covid jab and was admitted to hospital. Due to the pandemic and lockdown, we could not see him or visit. After several months he was then allowed home which was a very upsetting and stressful time as a family adapting to the new normal. Having carers back and forward, high stress if they didn't show up etc. He then had several extended trips to the hospital with UTIs. We were desperate for him to receive the best care but secondly some stability and calm following this unexpected, devastating and very chaotic 20 months. We have found that relief here at Bedewell Grange. From the personal touches making him feel special and well respected to communication with family so we are involved and assured of his care and wellbeing. The staff elucidate information, they are kind, understanding, supportive, humour and very well presented. Thank you for making an excruciating decision feel like the right one.
The home looks after my husband very well. I have no complaints about how they look after him.
All the staff are so lovely with Mam.
My mam passed away yesterday peacefully in her sleep after being a resident for over 8 years. I can't fault the care that she has had during her time there. We weren't allowed in for her 90th because of Covid but the staff made such a fuss of her and sent me pictures. So I would like to say a big thank you to all of the staff. I have recommended the home on several occasions to people looking for an excellent care home and I'd be happy to do it again. I am a nurse so I knew what I was looking for in my mams care.
My mother has been a resident at Bedewell Grange Care Home for 4 years. During that time she has received excellent care. The staff as well as the domestic staff have been wonderful, especially during the pandemic. I also think in our current state of affairs ie, the cost of living, that your staff should be given a cost of living rise, they are so hard working. I can't thank them enough for the care and dignity they have given my mother.
