We were very impressed with the building's condition. It was very clean and obviously well looked after.
All the staff were professional, polite, friendly and helpful, including the manager who spoke with a genuine love for the residents and found time to speak with us and allay our worries.
Our friend was very happy there and there seemed genuine affection for him to make his stay happier.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and we are pleased to hear we were able to alleviate any worries you may have had. We hope your journey back was safe and I'm sure your friend will look forward to a return visit. If you have any queries or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind regards, Rebecca.
I have found Bedewell Grange to be an amazing care home. It is such a happy and supportive place. My mother has thrived in the environment here. She is cared for by the most caring and professional staff you could wish for and nothing is ever a bother to them. There is such a great community feeling and residents can join in many varied activities. I could not wish for a better place for her.

I must say that providing care to your Mam with her wonderful stories is a pleasure, I will pass on your feedback to the team.
My brother was moved from another care home in the area because we thought he wasn't being well looked after, what a difference this has made to him! His care team are supportive and forthcoming with information about my brother. He is so much happier here. He was here as a temporary measure, but we are requesting that he stay here permenantly.

My mam has been in this care home since the middle of November 2023. Everyone is very helpful and if I ever have a problem it is dealt with quickly and efficiently. It was a hard decision to put my mam into care, but I can now sleep at night knowing she is well looked after if she is poorly or anything is wrong and I am always informed immediately.

Staff are generally lovely to Grandmother and us however grandmother herself and her room are often dirty and left that way and her bed is often filthy. This is becoming very distressing for family members as Grandmother has dementia and is unable to clean or remember she should bathe regularly.
We greatly appreciate all feedback from our residents and their families, and I am sorry to hear that your experience with the service is not at our expected standard. We endeavour to give a consistent level of care and service at every stage of a resident's and family's experience. I would like...
My dad, unfortunately, had a stroke in February 2020, it has been so debilitating for him and heartbreaking for our family. Dad came to Barchester Bedewell Grange Care Home in December 2022, until the present time. His care has been undoubtedly the most kind and dignified through his time here, he has hugs from staff, he is thought of very highly from management and throughout each department. I am so pleased we chose Barchester Bedewell Grange Care Home.

We chose Bedewell Grange Hebburn for respite care for my mother-in-law after a hospital stay. Since her arrival the level of care is outstanding. We are very confident that each and every member of staff are working hard to ensure she is happy and settled. It is apparent that management is excellent and this ripples through to all the team who clearly enjoy working at Bedewell Grange. The team communicate well and regularly and all requests are fulfilled in a timely way. We feel that nothing is too much trouble for staff despite them being busy. The facility is always spotless, our family member is always clean and well-dressed and her room and bedding fresh and clean. We really appreciate the efforts of everyone involved in her care.

After several months he was then allowed home which was a very upsetting and stressful time as a family adapting to the new normal. Having carers back and forward, high stress if they didn't show up etc.
He then had several extended trips to the hospital with UTIs. We were desperate for him to receive the best care but secondly some stability and calm following this unexpected, devastating and very chaotic 20 months. We have found that relief here at Bedewell Grange. From the personal touches making him feel special and well respected to communication with family so we are involved and assured of his care and wellbeing.
The staff elucidate information, they are kind, understanding, supportive, humour and very well presented.
Thank you for making an excruciating decision feel like the right one.

I have recommended the home on several occasions to people looking for an excellent care home and I'd be happy to do it again.
I am a nurse so I knew what I was looking for in my mams care.
Thank you for your kind response regarding the care we delivered to your mam it was a pleasure and an honour to care for her.
Wishing you all our thoughts at this time,
Many Thanks.
My mother has been a resident at Bedewell Grange Care Home for 4 years. During that time she has received excellent care. The staff as well as the domestic staff have been wonderful, especially during the pandemic. I also think in our current state of affairs ie, the cost of living, that your staff should be given a cost of living rise, they are so hard working. I can't thank them enough for the care and dignity they have given my mother.

My mam has been a resident here for six months, and during that time, the staff have done everything to help her settle and made it an easier transition for us all as a family. My mam is very happy here and enjoys all of the activities and entertainment they have. We are very happy with everything.
Thank you, Karen, for your lovely review. We are glad to hear that you feel that she has settled and is happy here. Your Mam is such a big character at Bedewell and a pleasure to care for, always putting a smile on our faces each day.
It's good to know that our mother is being well looked after. She is happy and content and we couldn't ask for home. Bedewell is her home and she regards all the wonderful staff as her extended family.

What a fabulous care home Bedewell Grange is. The manager and all her team are the most caring and sensitive people. My mum has been there for 16 months and she is so happy and well cared for. It is very much a big family. Can't recommend this home enough it's brilliant.
We are pleased to hear your mum is settled at Bedewell and is happy to be here with us. She is a pleasure to care for, a character that makes Bedewell a home for all the residents who reside here. Thank you very much for the feedback I will pass your comments on to the team.
Since my brother has been a resident from January 22, he is able to walk a lot better. He is eating more and putting on weight. He has gained a little more independence and become much more settled and gelling with staff as they take good care of him. A definite improvement to his life.
We are pleased to hear your brother is doing so well and has seen such an improvement in his quality of life. Thank you very much for the feedback.

Meet the Team (6)

My name is Denise, I am the Deputy Manager of Bedewell Grange care home. I joined Bedewell Grange in January 2022 and bring a wealth of experience to the role, having worked in health care for over 10 years. My passion is to help people, which is why I have developed my career within this sector. My personality is very approachable, so if you have any concerns, or just need a general chit chat, come and say hello!
I support the delivery of quality care and work closely with the General Manager - taking on leadership duties in their absence. I help with everything from ensuring care standards to motivating my team.
I am thoroughly enjoying this chapter in my career with Barchester, and looking forward to continuing to support our lovely residents and staff in the home.

Hello. I'm Tony. I am Bedewell Grange's Head of Maintenance.
I have been with Barchester since 2015 as the Head of Maintenance, and continue to enjoy every moment of it.
My background is in IT hardware, which is probably why I enjoy fixing electronic items. I also love the variety that this role brings, from changing a light bulb to re-decorating one of the lovely rooms here at the home.
It's always a please to chat with our residents as I make my daily rounds.

Hi, my name is Miranda and I am the home's administrator.
I have been working for Barchester since August 2021. I deal with all aspects of the administration of the home to ensure it runs smoothly, from invoicing, ordering, recruitment, setting up contracts, to manning reception; there's never a dull day!
I bring a wealth of administrative experience to the role having worked in construction for 30-years and I love this new role as every day is a school day.
It’s a privilege getting to know our residents, their backgrounds, humour and their life experiences. They have many a tale to tell, and I'm always happy to sit and listen to them over a cup of tea!

My Name is Donna. I am the activities co-ordinator at Bedewell Grange.
I joined Bedewell Grange in April 2022 and I bring lots of new exciting ideas to the role, having worked in the health and social care sector for the last 15 years. I am passionate about my role within the home and aim to bring a smile to all our residents faces through different types of activities.
I'm bright and bubbly, so aim to share this each day at work. I have experience in supporting our residents who are more able as well as doing sensory Namaste sessions with our residents who are less able.
As I get to know the residents likes and dislikes, if you would like to come and chat with me about your family member please pop in and see me.

Hi! I'm Cheryl, and I am one of the care Assistants.
I have worked in care for over 30 years and love being able to make a difference to all the people in my care. I obtained my level 3 NVQ in 2009.
I love being a carer as it is a very busy role and there is always something to do. Every day is different, and you are always learning new skills.
I have been at Bedewell since 2016 and love the homely atmosphere. Staff all work together to make Bedewell a true home for all of our residents, and I am proud of the high quality of care that we provide.

Hi, my name is Frederick, and I am a Senior Carer here at Bedewell Grange. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA in Business Administration, with over 11 years of professional experience in one of Nigeria's leading banks.
While my background may seem unconventional, I discovered a deep-seated passion for caregiving while tending to my ageing mother before her dear passing in 2021.
Relocating to the UK, I sought to channel this passion and embarked on a career in healthcare. I joined the Bedewell team in 2022 as a Carer and quickly progressed to the role of Senior Carer, thanks to the incredible support I received from the management.
I absolutely love my job and cherish the supportive environment fostered by the Bedewell team. I feel incredibly privileged to share the home of our lovely residents and will continue to do my best to contribute to their well-being.
I have diligently completed all necessary training and am eager to continue expanding my knowledge and contribute meaningfully to the healthcare sector. I look forward to meeting you or your loved ones at Bedewell. Thank you.
