On entering Shelburne Lodge it was like entering a five star hotel. Staff at the door to welcome us kind caring, smiling and respectful. The care I received in respite for 8 weeks was excellent, everything was done with a smile, nothing too much trouble for management, nurses, house keeping, Day & Night carers, chef and kitchen staff. I would recommend this care home to anyone looking for Residency or Respite care. I have been very happy with my stay and am sorry to be leaving.

I would like to take this opportunity to THANK EVERYONE for their help and kindness. I wish I could thank them individually but as that isn't possible this will have to suffice THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH

A terminally ill friend entered Shelburne Lodge for end of life care and from the very beginning of his stay the staff took an interest in him as a person - treating him with respect and dignity and showed a high degree of compassion throughout his five weeks there until his death. The care they provided was always meeting his increasing needs and expert outside medical advice obtained when neccesary. The staff always answered my questions fully and openly and I found any concerns I had about my friends worsening condition were already being dealt with by the team of experienced nurses and carers. The atmosphere in the home was friendly and welcoming as were all the staff and I had no doubts that my friend was in the best place for him.

Shelburne Lodge is a caring, warm and supportive home. All the staff are kind, respectful and go above and beyond to support you and your loved ones. In the two and a half years that my mum was there, most of the staff still remain, with very few agency staff. The surroundings are beautifully kept, the garden is tranquil and a little haven. The visitor areas are clean and comfortable, with refreshments provided for free. The communication from staff was very good, and we were always kept up-to-date on mum's wellbeing. It was always a pleasure to visit mum at this lovely home and we are so blessed that mum was surrounded with these lovely, caring people in her last weeks and days, the staff not only made mum as comfortable as possible but supported us through this difficult time.

I would not hesitate to recommend this nursing home anyone. Thank you for everything

Is the £600 taken for extra care never given a scam which I paid £100 extra for extra care for my friend which he never had not even any care. When he fell at 6pm in his room carers put cushion under his feet and left for 3 hours, no-one came in once to see if he was ok. He rang me every hour 7pm 8pm 9pm struggled to get into bed.

Will make a formal complaint to care Quality Commission requesting they do a spot inspection on Shelburne Home as Residents are not getting right care.

My family and I cannot speak highly enough of **Shelburne Lodge Nursing Home**. From the moment we first visited, it was clear that this facility prioritizes dignity, comfort, and personalized care for its residents.
The carers, nurses, management team go above and beyond to ensure residents feel valued and safe. They take time to learn individual preferences and treat everyone like family.
The home is impeccably maintained, with bright common areas, cozy rooms, and beautiful outdoor spaces.
The activity coordinator work tirelessly to keep residents mentally and physically stimulated. From arts and crafts to music therapy and gardening, there's always something happening.
The staff keeps families informed about residents' well-being through regular updates.

A special shout-out to one of the Nurses, one of the Care Practitioners, whose dedication and kindness made a world of difference for my mum. They consistently went the extra mile to ensure she felt comfortable and engaged.

I cannot thank Shelburne enough for the incredible compassion and care they provided for my grandmother in her final weeks. From the moment she arrived, the staff treated her with the utmost dignity, kindness, and respect, making sure she was comfortable and well cared for at all times.
The team went above and beyond-not only attending to her medical needs but also offering emotional support, companionship, and warmth that meant the world to both her and our family. They kept us informed, reassured us when we needed it, and created a truly loving environment that made an incredibly difficult time a little easier.

We will forever be grateful for the kindness and professionalism of everyone at Shelburne. They are not just caregivers; they are angels who provided my grandmother with dignity, comfort, and love in her final days. My grandmother's angels. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a place where their loved one will be treated like family.
