This home is so welcoming and all the staff greet you with a smile. They make you feel special. The room is bright and cheerful and you can personalise it. Nothing too much trouble. Dad is coming from hospital and they have ensured a smooth transition.

Although we only used Shelburne Lodge for a few days for end of life care, we were very impressed with the kindness and compassion shown to all of us at this very difficult time. The resident was treated with dignity at all times, and all staff we met were very supportive. Thank you so much!

The manager and her team were so supportive and the care mum received was amazing for her end of life. It was great to be able to bring our dog Ebony to see mum, they treated her like royalty.
I cannot praise the team highly enough, especially with the difficulties in keeping all staff, residents and visitors safe and free from COVID-19.

Mum passed away peacefully with dignity and her family beside her, thank you so very much.

This is the most amazing care home!
After a nightmare week of being in hospital, my mum was transferred to Shelburne Lodge for end of life care. It was a whole different experience. The staff were all extremely caring and supportive towards all of us and we felt that mum was being looked after compassionately and with dignity when we were not there.
The manager is fantastic and runs a fabulous care home and team of staff.

I cannot recommend this place enough!

My mother was transferred here by the hospital for end of life care in May 2021. She was not expected to survive. Six months later she is still with us! Staff are extremely caring, got to know her very quickly in difficult circumstances. All staff from maintenance, housekeeping, catering, caregivers are always welcoming and friendly, really know residents and visitors. Had a dear friend at Shelburne for the last months of her life, she was ha[[y and so well cared for. Glad mum was able to come here. The manager is an exceptionally compassionate and caring leader.

From day one the home endeavoured to be nothing but accommodating. The Purple Team are amazing, the Green Team are caring and went the extra mile. The Dark Blue Team have redeemed themselves in the last fortnight. The front of house is amazing and the Manger runs a good ship.

Kindness, compassion, and real caring are not things you can learn from a manual or be taught on a course - they are within you, and every member of the team who we have encountered so far has these attributes in abundance. However, they manage to balance this with absolute professionalism, within itself is remarkable.
A good team is only as good as its leadership and the Manager is the best.

Her hard work and commitment is an example to all and we can't praise her enough.

Review from Matt J (Relative of Resident) published on 21 July 2021 Submitted via Website

I recently visited my great aunt who is living here. A recent change in management has created an entirely positive change in atmosphere. The new manager is a breath of fresh air and her care and compassion is clear. While visiting I witnessed a meal being served and I must say the quality of the food looked far beyond what I’m served at home. The staff were attentive to the needs of my great aunt and I noticed all residents being treated with the same respect and dignity. The lounge area was bright, clean and welcoming. I didn’t expect to feel as comfortable at the idea of having a relative in a care home however after seeing the quality of living provided I will not only be visiting more often but will consider this home for my parents as they grow older. Thank you to both the manager and the staff for providing such a positive first visit to my great aunt and being so kind and welcoming in their work.
