What a cheerful and happy Care Home! Mum came to Hyacinth House initially for 2 weeks respite care following a fall. Aged 94, she was living independently and was reluctant to enter full time care. However, within 3 days she decided she didn't want to return home ever again. She is so happy to be part of the 'Hyacinth' community, enjoying the cheerful staff, delicious food, comfortable lounges and full entertainment programme. She has made many friends, as have I, amongst the residents and staff. Her care is exemplorary, cleanliness standards are faultless and the entire home is efficiently and professionally run. Quite simply, I cannot praise 'Hyacinth House' highly enough and am delighted that Mum's care is in such good hands.

My mother had to go into care when my father fell ill, and opted to go to Hyacinth House. After a few months my father joined her in the care home as he was no longer to live independently and he wanted to be with her. Very sadly he passed away a few months after that and my mother decided she wanted to join him, which she did a few weeks later.
Throughout all of this all the staff at Hyacinth House treated them both with great respect and dignity, and were always friendly and pleasant, and one felt that all the residents were each valued by the staff as individuals with their own experiences and stories to tell.

The care home itself is very warm, is immaculately maintained and cleaned, and there are regular activities held both on and offsite, though my parents didn't take part in them to any great extent. As a visitor I can attest to the quality of the coffee and cakes, and the residents' food looks varied and well-presented. I can strongly recommend Hyacinth House.

Wow! My Aunt has just finished her 2 weeks respite stay at Hyacinth house and I couldn't recommend this home highly enough. The friendliness of all the staff and the care they gave her was amazing. She settled very quickly and seemed to really enjoy her stay. She loved the company and the support they gave her was wonderful. The 2 weeks respite did her the world of good and she is keen to come back again in the future. She really will miss everyone and doesn't stop talking about the activities. My siblings and I were looking for care for our mother. After several hospital stays, my mother felt the time had come where she needed more care to help her live safely. We wanted somewhere close to where she has lived all her life and Hyacinth House was recommended and we loved it straightaway on visiting. My mother had been there now for about 6 weeks.
The home itself is attractive, welcoming but not overwhelming and huge like some care homes are nowadays. Inside, everything is very clean and tastefully decorated. There is always a warm welcome for visitors too. Most importantly, everyone working there is so lovely and can't do enough for you and your family member. There are lots of activities every day, which she enjoys very much and has made lots of friend.

My Grandad has attended don't dine alone a couple of times now and has been made to feel very welcome on each visit. The staff are very friendly and made him feel at ease straight away. He was very anxious about going somewhere new but the smile he came out with showed what a wonderful time he'd had. For someone who doesn't get out as much as they used too, this was the highlight of his week. He said the food was delicious and how nice it was to sit and chat to other people again. He even joined in with the activity afterwards.Thank you for giving him such a lovely afternoon.

Dad stayed at Hyacinth House for two weeks respite care. I cannot praise it highly enough, the staff were wonderful, very caring, compassionate and sensitive to his needs. They encouraged him to join in with the daily activities and eat with other residents in the dining room. Each time I visited I was warmly welcomed and communication from the staff was faultless.
I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for respite stay.

I and my daughter Rosalind were most impressed with Hyacinth House from the moment she called in to get a brochure, she was most impressed with the home and the atmosphere of great friendliness, as was I, who met the manager and who the next day came to meet me in my home. My stay of 3 weeks enabled me to get back to sleeping well, which I hadn't been for many months. The staff were outstanding in their professionalism and their very sensitive care was greatly appreciated. I attended some very helpful exercise classes and feel so much stronger because of my stay.

Another excellent extended respite stay for my mother. During the time we have been using Hyacinth House, Mum's mobility has deteriorated. She now uses a wheelchair and rollator and needs assistance transfering between equipment, getting dressed, washing and toileting, which is all provided by the Hyacinth team with the utmost care and dignity. This is truely a friendly care home where all the team take time to talk with Mum and get to know her visitors. Mum also loves the food her and enjoys the activities and outings. You are all amazing and should be proud of the care provided.

I have visited Hyacinth House a couple of times with my Community Dog Louis. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and make you feel at home straightaway. The facilities and decor are very homely and I see there is a full programme of visits and activities. The residents all seem happy and well-catered, for with staff approaching several times while I've been visiting to check everyone is alright.
I love visiting with Louis as it's such a warm and inviting place

Mum moved into Hyacinth House in January 2025 at the age of 95, when her health was failing & she needed more support. Hyacinth House fitted the bill perfectly. It didn't feel like a 'care home' but a real home. The staff were very welcoming to Mum & helped her settle in. They went out of their way to accommodate her every need & to really get to know her. Excellent food & the lounges were very comfortable & mum's family very well supported when they visited. Hyacinth House cared for Mum until the end of her life in May with care & dignity. I couldn't recommend them enough.

The manager was truly exceptional - responsive, approachable, and compassionate. She took the time to build a genuine relationship with my mum, which meant the world to us both. Her professionalism and leadership were evident in the way the home was run.

She lives there, so has some comments to make herself, but I know she does communicate her needs and constructively critical comments to the relevant folk. The home is more like a hotel to be in to me. The public areas are so comfortable and...
I am very pleased with Hyacinth House for my mother.
She lives there, so has some comments to make herself, but I know she does communicate her needs and constructively critical comments to the relevant folk. The home is more like a hotel to be in to me. The public areas are so comfortable and tastefully furnished. All the staff are welcoming, kind and helpful. I remain very happy for her to be in Hyacinth. Such a shame I am unable to continue caring for her myself. She had known Hyacinth from being in respite, and the transition for her, whilst being sad, does not appear to have been too traumatic when the time came for her to go in permanently.
I cannot think of any constructively critical aspect to share at this time.
Sadly, she chooses not to engage with the other residents much, or take part in the activities. She is very disabled but completely 'on the ball'....... But I know there are activities and another resident does pop in to visit her daily.

I needed to find respite care for my elderly aunt. I was nervous as I had never had to do this before. I did not need to worry, Hyacinth House is amazing - the care and empathy is above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. Aunty may end up staying.

Hello, my name is Kamila and I am the General Manager here at Hyacinth House.
I've been working in the Health and Social Care Sector for the past 20 years. After finishing my higher education in Poland, I was looking for a new adventure and wanted to learn a new language and culture. I felt England was the perfect place to do just that. I feel privileged to be in a job I feel passionate about. I am grateful that my passions have been rewarded with a fulfilling career.
Myself and the amazing team will continue to deliver outstanding care to all our residents, their families and friends. I always strive to make a difference in people’s lives and find it rewarding when I help somebody to live their life to the fullest. For me, this is what working in care has always been about, and I know that I can continue delivering this mission with the support of my wonderful colleagues at Hyacinth House.
Hyacinth House has been extensively refurbished with premium facilities and beautifully designed furnishings. We are very proud of our home and look forward to giving you a warm welcome.

Together with the rest of the team, I help to ensure the home and the environment is safe for our residents and staff. We are constantly looking for ways to improve so that it is an enjoyable place to live and work in.
My favourite part of the job is assisting new residents set up their rooms in a personalised way, hanging photos, moving furniture, and making the new environment as comfortable and homely as possible.

I have been a chef for 26 years working in various restaurants in Birmingham and the south of England, I have gained experience in all styles of cooking and most aspects of hospitality from fine dining to cafes including catering at the Olympics for a 1000 cover.
