Having been admitted to Hyacinth House unexpectedly, I cannot fault the genuine kindness, care, service and attention afforded to me during my stay here. Each and every member of staff has been interested in me as a person and have had the time to listen to me and give encouragement every step of my
recovery. My thoughts about care homes have drastically changed since my stay at Hyacinth House. I and my family couldn't recommend the care and attention highly enough. First-class on every level. Thank you.

From my very first phone call to Hyacinth House at 19:12 hours on 27th December 2023, the service was very professional and ever so kind and caring to my mother and her children. The following morning, my son (adult nurse) and I met Hyacinth House's Home Services Advisor and she was again superb, quickly
understood my mother's feelings, fears, and more importantly her needs. She was very clear and gave us a very detailed tour of the lovely care home and the activities available. Mum duly arrived the next day and her respite stay was very successful. All the staff, from the fantastic chef, amazing care staff and the management were just superb and so caring. Thank you.

Mom was a little anxious about going to Barchester Hyacinth House for some respite after an operation but from the moment she arrived, she was made to feel welcome and relaxed in the new environment. She enjoyed the fact it was home away from home, where her routine didn't change that much. She enjoyed
the interaction with all the staff and the various activities that were put on for them. The food was lovely and small portions given as she liked. After two weeks, she is now talking of returning in the future for another "holiday". Well done to all the staff for making it such a pleasurable experience that she would like to return.

A modern and well-executed home, which was a pleasure to visit. The staff were all friendly and professional. The food and drinks offered were spot-on. I genuinely cannot find any criticism. My mother-in-law will be back for respite - she is delighted with every aspect.

I found all staff have been very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. I have enjoyed all the activities that have taken place, and have been interesting. The food has been excellent, and I have enjoyed every meal I have had.

My mother-in-law recently moved into Hyacinth House, first for a trial period. But when the trial ended there was no hesitation for our relative signing up to be a permanent guest. We were all a little anxious as to how this would work out, transitioning from living alone to becoming part of a new community
but the staff are all very welcoming and dispelled any fears. No ask is too much trouble for the excellent team at Hyacinth House.
The facilities are akin to what you would find in a high class hotel, the food is amazing and the chefs are ready to adjust menus to suit all needs. There is also a good range of activities, enthusiastically put together and delivered, with the guests at the centre.
We cannot put any criticism at all with the home, or with any of the staff who are always very positive and friendly. I highly recommend Barchester Hyacinth House and we are 100% confident that our relative will be very well cared for and will enjoy her stay.

My mother has come to Barchester Hyacinth House for a month's respite. We had to arrange care quickly due to a family emergency, and the team were excellent in addressing an offering my mother a place at very short notice. The care my mother is receiving is excellent. The food is amazing and facilities
wonderful. Staff are always kind attentive and professional.

This home is wonderful! l am very happy and can not find fault in anything. The food is excellent, the carers are a delight and the hospitality knows no bounds, the people who come from all walks of life are made so welcome when they come through the door. I feel very much at home.

I've been working in the Health and Social Care Sector for the past 20 years. After finishing my higher education in Poland, I was looking for a new adventure and wanted to learn a new language and culture. I felt England was the perfect place to do just that. I feel privileged to be in a job I feel passionate about. I am grateful that my passions have been rewarded with a fulfilling career.


Myself and the amazing team will continue to deliver outstanding care to all our residents, their families and friends. I always strive to make a difference in people’s lives and find it rewarding when I help somebody to live their life to the fullest. For me, this is what working in care has always been about, and I know that I can continue delivering this mission with the support of my wonderful colleagues at Hyacinth House.


Hyacinth House has been extensively refurbished with premium facilities and beautifully designed furnishings. We are very proud of our home and look forward to giving you a warm welcome.

I started my career at Hyacinth house as night senior carer in December 2023. I previously worked in care for nearly three decades and have an NVQ3 in Adult and Social Care. My career started when I provided respite for vulnerable children ranging from 0–17 years. As my own children were getting older, I changed direction and worked with adults. I have worked in both nursing and residential care.


In my spare time, I like to read, bake and swim. I also like walking with my husband and dog Ozzy! Spending time with my children who are now qualified professionals themselves. Plus a little retail therapy, hiking and historical places.


Hyacinth House is such a lovely home. We have caring staff that show so much empathy to ensure our residents are treated as individuals and are genuinely interested and care about each and everyone of them, always with a smile on their faces

My culinary journey began at Bournemouth College and my role began as a commis chef I climbed the ladder in diverse hotels, amassing a comprehensive catering background. After 15 years in the kitchen, I transitioned into hospitality management, finding joy in nurturing and guiding my team while ensuring exceptional customer experiences. After another 15 years in management, I felt the pull back to my culinary roots. Barchester has offered me the support to pursue my passion, and I'm thrilled to welcome residents into our splendid abode.


Outside of work, my interests extend to exploring the world. From trekking along the enchanting landscapes of Dorset to embarking on adventures in far-flung locales like the iconic Taj Mahal and the awe-inspiring wonder that is the Great Wall, my love for travel remains constant. Additionally, I find solace in creating delectable dishes, a hobby that harmoniously intertwines with my professional journey.
