Trip to Falmouth Art Gallery

Last Updated: 08 Oct 2024 @ 00:00 AM

We took some of our artistic residents down to Falmouth Art Gallery recently to see the Ammeth: Farming In Cornwall display. The display went to the farm to use art to explore stories and issues from one of Cornwall’s most important industries. Over 70% of land in the county is farmed and the relationship between farming and the landscape has been a continuing source of inspiration for local artists. The exhibition examined how farming is depicted in historic and contemporary art, reflecting on environmental concerns and celebrating Cornwall’s rich farming tradition and the positive impact of regenerative farming methods and sustainable food production. Featuring loans from Penlee House Gallery & Museum and a new commission in celebration of soil by Georgia Gendall. Trips to our local gallery are always very popular with our residents.
