Loveday Kensington’s Gardening Club Springs Back

Last Updated: 04 Feb 2025 @ 00:00 AM

As the days grow longer and the first signs of spring start to emerge, Loveday Kensington is delighted to welcome back our weekly Gardening Club, much to the joy of our Members. The social club, which brings together those with green fingers and a passion for nature, is resuming just in time for the new planting season.

Gardening has always been a cherished activity at Loveday Kensington, offering Members the chance to connect with nature, stay active and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of tending to plants. The club focuses on growing fresh herbs and vegetables, which are then incorporated into the Michelin-style seasonal dishes prepared by our culinary team. From fragrant rosemary and basil to vibrant tomatoes and baby courgettes, every ingredient nurtured by our Members is celebrated in our menus.

“The sense of pride our Members feel when they see their home-grown ingredients featured in our dishes is truly special,” says Sam Nurse, Head Chef at Loveday Kensington. “Dishes made with freshly picked produce are always the first to go, and our Members take great delight in knowing they’ve played a part in creating them.”

Beyond its culinary benefits, the Gardening Club is a wonderful social occasion, bringing Members together to share gardening tips, reminisce about past gardens, enjoy scent therapy and simply embrace spending time outdoors. Studies have shown that gardening can boost mood, reduce stress and promote overall wellbeing, making it a perfect activity for the Loveday community.

Led by Josh Allen, Loveday’s Resident Horticulturist, the weekly gardening clubs will spring back into action this month. Members are eager to get their hands in the soil once more, cultivating not just a thriving garden but also friendship and fulfilment.
