A care home is offering therapy services for older people.

Signature at Caversham, a care home near Reading, has partnered with Wokingham-based Therapies on Thames to provide a range of therapy services, including physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and occupational therapy.

The services are available to both current residents and patients of Therapies on Thames.

These services are designed to help individuals recover from surgery, rebuild strength after a stroke, or manage chronic conditions like arthritis.

The care home aims to improve the recovery journeys of residents and community members, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.

Laura Hulett, home manager at Signature at Caversham, said: "The rehabilitation which we offer is different to most.

"Our physio team home in on the individual, focusing on their hobbies and interests and using these as part of the holistic rehab.

"Our rehabilitation services mean we can help people in our community get back to doing what they love, faster and with the right support.

"Whether it's recovering from a hip operation or learning to manage a long-term condition, we're here to make the journey as smooth and as enjoyable as possible."

To celebrate the launch of the new programme, Signature at Caversham will host a rehabilitation-focused open day on Thursday, February 22, from 10am to 4pm.

The event is open to the public, offering a chance to see the service in action.

Visitors can expect live demonstrations of physiotherapy techniques, expert advice on stroke recovery and mobility improvements, and the opportunity to meet the physiotherapists leading these programmes.

Raj Senniappan, founder and managing director of Therapies on Thames, said: "Rehabilitation is about giving people the tools and confidence to take charge of their recovery.

"Partnering with Signature at Caversham allows us to offer the very best care in an environment that feels like home."

The full rehabilitation offer includes post-surgical recovery, helping individuals regain strength and confidence after joint replacements or other surgeries.

There is also stroke rehabilitation, helping stroke survivors rebuild mobility and coordination.

The service also provides support for mobility challenges, addressing issues like balance and walking difficulties to improve safety and independence.

Chronic condition management is also part of the offer, providing relief and strategies for conditions like Parkinson's disease and arthritis.

Signature at Caversham hopes that its new range of services will make a significant difference to the lives of older people in the community.

The care home is encouraging anyone who could benefit from these services to attend the open day to find out more.
