Libby the Dachshund, a beloved pet and companion to the people who live at St George’s Court Care Home celebrated her 1st birthday this week!
Libby has been a part of the St George’s Court Family for almost a year, and during this time, she has had a significant impact! Her energetic yet friendly nature has delighted the people who live there, whilst helping to bring back memories of pets they owned throughout their lives.
As an important and valued part of the family, the people who live at St George’s Court said that her first birthday had to be celebrated in style. Birthdays and milestone events are always marked with a special celebration, and the people who live at St George’s Court said Libby’s birthday should be no different, so the team set about making plans for a puppy party to remember!
Friends, relatives, and members of the community were invited to join the people at St George's Court, along with their furry friends. This created a buzz of excitement, and they couldn’t wait to meet people and their pets!
Upon arrival, guests and their pooches were shown around the care home and introduced to the people who live there. Spending time with animals is proven to boost wellbeing at St George’s Court, so meeting all the different breeds in attendance went down a treat!
With spring in full swing and sun shining, the party then moved outside where a variety of activities took place. This included a group game of fetch, a timed agility trial and a ‘find the treat’ challenge.
The people who live at St George’s Court enjoyed being a part of the celebrations and stroking their new canine friends. Keeping in with tradition, the group also sung Happy Birthday to Libby and presented her with a delicious doggy cake!
It was a wonderful day filled with friendly animal connection and lots of fun! Libby and all her friends at St George’s Court thoroughly enjoyed celebrating her birthday!
