St Georges Court is a 76 bedded care home providing person-centred care for adults aged 65+, including those living with Dementia and those with nursing needs.

Situated just off of Hills Road, the home is within walking distance of the town centre, which hosts a wide range of shops, churches, restaurants, and other facilities. The local railway station is situated within a 5-minute walk and a good local bus service operates closely to the home.

St Georges Court is divided into 3 units over three floors. All rooms are single occupancy with 52 rooms having en-suite facilities.

Each unit has a dining area, lounge and a kitchenette as well as bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets throughout the home. The upper floors of the home are accessed by stairs or lift. All areas of the home are accessible for wheelchair users.

St Georges Court provides:

My brother has been at St George Court for 2 years, and he has been very happy here. He is well looked after, and it is obvious that the wonderful staff truly care about him and his wellbeing. They know him very well and always treat him with respect and kindness. I have experienced nothing but compassion
and understanding from all the staff, who are friendly and very good at their jobs. I'm kept informed about issues affecting my brother, and I know I can ask questions and get answers anytime I need to - management are approachable and empathetic, and that feeling of a community runs through the whole care home. I feel very lucky for my brother and myself that this is his home.

They recognise any changes early. They are on top of getting the correct medications. The rooms are cleaned regularly - the room smells clean and fresh. If patient not feeling too good, meals are provided in their room.
Entertainment is varied to suit all residents. Having animals/birds at home brings

My mum unexpectedly became a resident following a fall, a rapid deterioration in her memory and a horrible 2 month hospital stay. I was concerned about past reviews and reports but all worries have been dispelled by a very caring and responsive staff. Mum has really enjoyed the wide range of activities
offered and regained much of her pleasure in life and had started to regain weight. She is well cared for and my sister and I are very happy to be kept well informed about her progress and advised about any concerns. They also organised a lovely 90th Birthday for her attended by a few friends and family.

My mum is generally well cared for, staff are kind and helpful, there is a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. There are a lot of activities to join in with and the coordinator is very good at encouraging and enabling people to take part. If my mum is ever out at mealtimes a plate of food is always saved
for her if we haven't said she won't need the meal. Staff learn the resident's preferences and create a jolly atmosphere in the dining room. Sometimes everyone needs help at the same time and it can be a bit frustrating waiting. It's a shame when staff leave after a fairly short time but there is a good core of long term staff members. Newly decorated in nice calm clean manner.

Dad has only been in St George's a few weeks, but he already feels at home. Decoration throughout is very tasteful and makes it feel very homely and welcoming, all areas are clean clear and tidy. Dad's room is well laid out, he was able to bring furniture and items to make the room feel like his own,
and has a nice view over the gardens. All staff have a positive caring attitude and give dignity and respect to all. There are many daily activities and residents are encouraged to join in or watch/listen. Weekly there is the opportunity to have an appointment with the hair stylist, have a manicure or see the podiatrist. The food is great, residents are encouraged to eat in one of the dining rooms or in their rooms. The food selection is very good, and several options to choose from. There are always snacks and drinks available and the staff are always around to assist. The nursing team are there 24/7, very proficient and caring and I am always kept updated. A great place to stay.

I visited my friend for the first time in several months. I found the home to be very welcoming and friendly.
Team members were smiling and helpful, they took me to see my friend who was doing bingo.
We were able to have a private conversation in my friends room.
The room was cleaned and well
presented, we had a cup of coffee and enjoyed our time together.
I look forward to viewing again soon, I have just found out that the home has a social media account so I can follow the home and see what is happening in the home.

I went to visit a family friend with my mum, I found the home to be clean with no smells like some. Our friend was saying how nice the food was as it is all made in the home.
Our showed us the room she had and this was very light and clean, we went to the garden and met the manager and Libby the home
dog who is such a cheeky little character and friendly with a treat.
We enjoyed our visit and we are planning to go to an event later in the year. We heard that the halloween party for residents is an unmissable event and loved by all of the residents and staff.

I visit my aunt every other week. She has lived in St George for a year. It was hard making the decision to place my aunt in full time care. From the point of the Manager, assessing my aunt to today we have been supported. She guided us through the process of moving into a card home. I visited my
aunt today and it was wonderful to see her so happy and contented. She did not know I was visiting today and she looked so clean and well presented. She told me about the entertainment she had watched last week and she loves Libby the dog. Libby gives my aunt such comfort and fun. All the staff are caring and welcoming when we visit. My aunt is is happy, well cared for and ultimately feels safe and loved in St George. We could not ask for any more.

My friend was devastated earlier this year when she and her family took the difficult decision that she would be safer living in a care home. What a difference to the person I recently visited. She was relaxed and happy and reported the she was being well cared for and enjoying the company of both
staff and other residents. I have to say I met a few of the staff and they were all cheerful,caring and extremely kind - nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. I am not much younger that my friend and knowing such a lovely place exists makes me think about my future in a more positive light.

I have been living at St Georges Court for almost 1 year now and I have had no end of good experiences. The staff from administration to nurses to carers are all very helpful and polite and make everyday experience very pleasurable. The care home is easy to find from the city centre and is close to
the train station. There is the botanic gardens close by, as well as a museum and college. My room is very pleasant and I enjoy all the activities that are put on for us. The food is very good considering the varied diet of all living here, I have a cooked breakfast every morning buy choice which is very nice. I enjoy living here and would recommend to others.

I had the pleasure of visiting my friends care home, I was impressed with the modern decor it creates a welcoming atmosphere. I have been visiting with my Therapy dog for three years. The home has improved very substantially during that period. The home and the rooms are now clean, well decorated and physically fit for purpose within the limitations of an older building. Staff are dedicated and caring and do their very best
to meet residents' needs. A programme of staff training has been evident during my regular visits and there is no longer rapid turnover of permanent staff. Agency staff no longer appear to be used. This is good for a number of reasons. Residents have full programme of daily activities for those able to participate.

My experience with St Georges Court Care Home is very positive. I recently visited my Aunt and I found the care home to be very clean and neat and the staff with whom I interacted were all very kind, congenial and friendly. The Care Home Manager is a perfect example of how a Care Home Manager should
be, in my opinion. She epitomises care, concern and empathy and has a warm and friendly personality. She is perfect for her role in the care home. I feel at ease knowing that my Aunt is receiving quality care at this care home.
