When we were looking for a nursing home for my grandad between myself and the social worker, we phoned about 40-50 homes, and every home would not accept him due to him needing 1-1 for behavioural reasons. When I phoned St George’s Court, I spoke to the manager, who was so helpful and knowledgeable, and I could tell she wanted to help us, and a week later, he moved in. I was worried about how unsettled Grandad was going to be after yet another move, but when he got there, the manager made Grandad feel so welcome and comforted him straight away. Grandad was only there for 3-weeks before he fell ill and passed away. But I am happy to know the last 3-weeks of his life he was comfortable and looked after well in St George’s Court. We, as a family, thank all the staff for their care and compassion, as we know that with Granddad's dementia, he wasn’t the easiest to look after.

Thanks again, St George’s Court; you really went above and beyond for my grandad after everything he had been through. Thank you.

My mother was in St Georges, and I couldn't have wished for a better or more caring home. From the manager, care manager, the nurses and carers, all staff were very kind and very professional. There is also a lovely garden to sit in. I had regular phone updates and calls when my mother became ill. Thank you.

From what I can tell, my mother is very well looked after.
There are no complaints.
The facilities are very good, and she feels comfortable in her surroundings.
Her room is clean and tidy.

Communication with management via email is very good.

Our mother has been at St George's since October 2019, so Covid has been in the background for almost the whole of her stay. This has obviously had a significant impact, particularly on our ability to visit as much or as often as we would have liked.
However, throughout her stay, we have been impressed with the hard work and dedication of the staff. The level of care has been great and, when we have not been unable to visit, we have been kept informed of her health and welfare. Most of all, we are confident that our mother feels settled and has enjoyed her time at St George's.

We would like to say a big thank you!

It feels like home here. My mother-in-law tells me she likes it here and that everyone is kind and lovely. She says they look after her well and she is happy. I agree. What I see is that people are patient and kind, and they know my mother-in-law well. They are a new family to her, and although we are sad she can't be with us, we know it's best for her to be here amongst kind people who know her and care. Thank you.

The staff have certainly had some tough times this last year with Covid restrictions, but my observations are such that they have come through it all with fortitude and professionalism. I think that there have been times, especially at weekends, when they have been stretched, but I have nothing but praise of the all, and in particular, for those on reception and the onsite manager.

Thank you, St George's Court, for caring for our relative for the past few months. Whenever we visited her, we were aware of the hard work and compassion shown to her. The whole management team provided us with answers in an approachable and kind manner, and the extremely hardworking care staff and nurses made her brief stay there easier for her despite her difficulties.

My dad has now been in St George's Court for 18-months. He moved here after we sadly lost our Mum. Also, one week before the first lockdown. We were really worried about how well he and we would adapt to him being in a care home. I have nothing but praise for the work and compassion your carers have had for us as a family.

Thank you, St Georges Court Home and the excellent staff attending to our Uncle during his closing days where he passed away on 20th April 2021.

The entire family living abroad trans globally, it was a difficult time to deal with not only Uncle's failing health, but many other factors relating to a time such as this. On all levels, the staff understood our dilemma and the contributing factors of Covid -19 as well!

The kindness of everyone was beyond words - sending photos and videos, updating us even in their off time - ensure the on-duty staff continued. My particular appreciation and respect go to an incredible particular member of staff, who made his days most comfortable. A nurse must be commended, and although I did not personally have comms with the night nurse - others in the family commend her attitude and care too.

There could not have been a better place from when Uncle went gently into his night.

Our lovely friend spent a few weeks at St George’s Court and was cared for beautifully by the manager and the whole team. The nursing care and the personal interest was taken by staff to ensure his family and friends were kept updated during these difficult times was excellent. Thank you very much to you all.

My father has been at St George's for seven years this month, and during this time, has always received excellent care, and the family has been well supported too .
This has been particularly highlighted during Covid times when we have been unable to pay our regular family visits to Dad.
Many families and their loved ones have been frustrated by the tight restrictions resulting in the lack of indoor contact between them, but the upside has been that no residents have suffered from Covid, which is an absolute testament to the hard work and care of the manager and team in protecting themselves, and in turn, the residents from Covid.
The whole team always try and be as flexible as possible in meeting the needs of my father both in his day to day care and in trying to make visits as workable as possible within the guidance for safe contact with each other, which is much appreciated.

Thank you all, and hopefully, it will not be too long before we can return to normal times.

Recently, ( Dec2020) Mum was diagnosed with aggressive blood cancer and given 4-6 months to live, on top of this, Mum has Alzheimer’s disease, which has rapidly progressed.
It’s been a heartbreaking journey for our family.
We are very close to Mum, seeing her go through this and having no option but to place her in a care home has been the hardest situation to be in.
Through this email, I wanted to express our sincere gratitude to the manager and the team at St George care home.
The manager has shown compassion, thoughtfulness and understanding with Mums circumstances.
Given the limited time we have left with Mum, we feel the manager is on our side, supporting us, reassuring us throughout.
Another has been involved in Mums care and has understood her needs and been extremely helpful and informative.
All of these extra touches have helped tremendously with this difficult journey.

We wish to send our eternal gratitude.

Throughout the COVID-19 lockdown, we have not been able to see my mother in law, but we know through email, social media etc that we can see and be in contact with the carers. We have felt indebted to the care and selfless attention that the staff have given over these last 5/6 months- we thank you

My mother has been in St Georges for almost a year now, and the staff are amazing, and during this terrible time of lockdown due to coronavirus, they have gone above and beyond to care for my mum. My dad would visit daily, and I'd visit 2-3 times a week; the staff were always friendly, helpful and engaging with residents. Since lockdown, they have communicated by letter, phone and social media, which has been a huge comfort. A big thanks to all the staff; you are our heroes.
