St Georges Court is a 76 bedded care home providing person-centred care for adults aged 65+, including those living with Dementia and those with nursing needs.

Situated just off of Hills Road, the home is within walking distance of the town centre, which hosts a wide range of shops, churches, restaurants, and other facilities. The local railway station is situated within a 5-minute walk and a good local bus service operates closely to the home.

St Georges Court is divided into 3 units over three floors. All rooms are single occupancy with 52 rooms having en-suite facilities.

Each unit has a dining area, lounge and a kitchenette as well as bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets throughout the home. The upper floors of the home are accessed by stairs or lift. All areas of the home are accessible for wheelchair users.

St Georges Court provides:

Myself and my son would like to highly recommend St George’s Court Care Home. The care home looked after my dad when he was alive, and is now looking after my mum. The care home is like one big happy family. The staff are always happy and helpful and willing to help visitors and residents alike. The
care home has many activities during the week and entertainment. It’s always kept lovely and clean.
The food is excellent. When I visit Mum and then leave, I know Mum is getting the best care.

Staff are mostly kindly and well meaning, but often they knock, enter and say 'tea' or similar. It would be so much nicer if they could chat a little: 'how are you' or 'it's a lovely day' or 'rainy day' and look her in the face and smile. It's a very minor matter on the face of it, but it would make
a big difference.

My husband was admitted to St George's in November 2022 as needing nursing care. During his time, every effort was made to ensure his comfort and well-being. There was humour, and of course, tears. During February 2023, his very poor health deteriorated further, but the staff were kind and respectful
and helped us to cope with his passing when the time came.
Our children, grandson and I want to thank all the staff for the very high level of care he was given during his stay with you. I felt that he had the best possible life considering how ill he was.

Some carers are more efficient and more caring. I think more activities or someone taking time talking to them as you can see the difference in the residents when this happens. Things have improved greatly.

In my husband's words - "that nurse is a diamond", which relates to all the staff. He has settled down and is well-liked by all the staff. The manager is always at hand or at the end of her mobile, which is very reassuring. Really pleased with this care home. Please thank all the staff for the excellent

My wife is bedbound. She luckily became a resident in St George's Court care home last year. On Wednesday 29th of June, they held a visitor and relatives "Mary Poppins themed tea party", during the national care home week. I left my wife to see what was going on and found myself confronting "Mary Poppins"
herself carrying a chair yet with an umbrella hooked on her arm. She was helping another resident settle into their lounge. Then from among the munching residents and visitors, this hatted and long-dressed Mary Poppins flew at me, clutching her umbrella saying "welcome, we are bringing the party to you and your wife in her room". The tea tray is being delivered there now, come with me. Only then did I think I recognised, under that hat, the home manager herself. So much wife enjoyed a brief chat with this Mary Poppins, and then she flew off. It is the best UK nursing care home I have encountered. Everyone employed in the building becomes part of a caring team effort. Well done to all those involved in making this exhilarating party for as many residents as possible and the rest of us.

I am very grateful for the continuing care given to my mother since she was admitted to the dementia care section of St George’s Court last August. Staff are very caring, and under the very difficult circumstances surrounding Coronavirus, have worked exceptionally hard to make day-to-day life as good
as it can be for the residents. It’s fantastic that now restrictions have been eased, activities are increasing, and the stimulation provided by these is much appreciated. The social media page is a good way of seeing some of the activities that occur, and it’s lovely to see my mum in some of the photos engaging in these.

When we were looking for a nursing home for my grandad between myself and the social worker, we phoned about 40-50 homes, and every home would not accept him due to him needing 1-1 for behavioural reasons. When I phoned St George’s Court, I spoke to the manager, who was so helpful and knowledgeable,
and I could tell she wanted to help us, and a week later, he moved in. I was worried about how unsettled Grandad was going to be after yet another move, but when he got there, the manager made Grandad feel so welcome and comforted him straight away. Grandad was only there for 3-weeks before he fell ill and passed away. But I am happy to know the last 3-weeks of his life he was comfortable and looked after well in St George’s Court. We, as a family, thank all the staff for their care and compassion, as we know that with Granddad's dementia, he wasn’t the easiest to look after.
Thanks again, St George’s Court; you really went above and beyond for my grandad after everything he had been through. Thank you.

My mother was in St Georges, and I couldn't have wished for a better or more caring home. From the manager, care manager, the nurses and carers, all staff were very kind and very professional. The facilities are very good, and she feels comfortable in her surroundings.

It feels like home here. My mother-in-law tells me she likes it here and that everyone is kind and lovely. She says they look after her well and she is happy. I agree. What I see is that people are patient and kind, and they know my mother-in-law well. They are a new family to her, and although we are
sad she can't be with us, we know it's best for her to be here amongst kind people who know her and care. Thank you.

Our mother has been at St George's since October 2019, so Covid has been in the background for almost the whole of her stay. This has obviously had a significant impact, particularly on our ability to visit as much or as often as we would have liked.
However, throughout her stay, we have been impressed
with the hard work and dedication of the staff. The level of care has been great and, when we have not been unable to visit, we have been kept informed of her health and welfare. Most of all, we are confident that our mother feels settled and has enjoyed her time at St George's.

The staff have certainly had some tough times this last year with Covid restrictions, but my observations are such that they have come through it all with fortitude and professionalism. I think that there have been times, especially at weekends, when they have been stretched, but I have nothing but
praise of the all, and in particular, for those on reception and the onsite manager.
