Harry and Audrey: The magnificent sibling bond at Thornton Hall

Last Updated: 17 Apr 2025 @ 00:00 AM

Harry and Audrey grew up in Litherland, Merseyside alongside their two other siblings Brenda and Pauline. Since they both now reside at Thornton Hall & Lodge Care Home in Crosby, we spoke to the duo about their special bond and why they’re so happy to be living together again.

As the eldest sibling, Audrey remembers the day Harry was born — her mum sent her to fetch the midwife. Audrey had no idea she would soon meet her lifelong friend. Looking back on their childhood, both Audrey and Harry recall never arguing and share fond memories of growing up closely connected to their aunts and uncles.

Even now, the happy siblings never run out of topics to talk about. They sit together every lunchtime and they love taking part in activities together. Harry said: “We’ve always been close, but now we have this amazing opportunity to spend quality time together.” The Thornton Hall team always makes sure that the pair have activities planned to do together and strive to make their time spent together truly special.

Audrey shared, “We’re both very sociable and have made so many friends here at Thornton. One of them, Doreen, we’ve known our whole lives! She even used to babysit Harry when we were little.”

Thanks to the Activities team, Harry and Audrey have an endless amount of things to do together, and with their friends. For Sibling’s Day earlier this month, they took a trip to the pub together for a drink and a chat. The Activities team have described the siblings’ bond as one which is filled with love and joy.
