Members of the local community in Yeovil are being invited to join residents and staff at Chestnut Lodge for some homemade cake and a cuppa – all in support of a cause close to our hearts.
The home is hosting its first ever dementia fundraiser on Tuesday 6th May, opening its doors from 2pm to 5pm for a special afternoon tea event.
All proceeds from the ‘Time 4 a Cuppa’ get together will be going to Alzheimer’s UK which supports research, care, and advice for people affected by dementia.
Said Gary Shackle, Chestnut Lodge’s activities co-ordinator: “What better way for those living with dementia to support others going through the same journey.
“Residents will be on hand to meet and greet guests on the day, helping to create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
“Whether you’re directly affected by dementia, want to show your support for Alzheimer’s UK, or simply fancy some good cake and good company, everyone is welcome.
“We’ve never done anything like this before, but if it’s a success we’ll definitely look to do it again.”
