Peacehaven care home reveal 'remarkable' stories in new podcast series

HC-One's Haven Care Home in Peacehaven, East Sussex, has offered listeners an authentic glimpse into the lives of residents and colleagues through personal interviews and conversations that capture the essence of care home life after launching a weekly podcast series.

The debut episode features a touching farewell conversation with resident Sandy Cross, who shares cherished memories of her time at HC-One's Haven Care Home. Sandy provides listeners with a vivid portrayal of the warmth and community spirit that defines the care home.

The podcast's second episode explores the professional journey of Ines Amaro, a dedicated Nursing Assistant. Ines discusses the joys and challenges of caregiving and the meaningful relationships she has formed with residents over the years.

The podcast aims to bring listeners closer to daily life at HC-One's Haven Care Home. It celebrates both residents and colleagues while highlighting the compassionate care that makes the home special.

Each weekly episode will feature different perspectives, from residents reminiscing about their lives, colleagues sharing behind-the-scenes insights and relatives telling their stories of the journey of placing a loved one in a new home.

Mel Rosborough, HC-One’s Haven Care Home Wellbeing Coordinator, who helps produce the podcast, added:

"This project allows our residents to share their remarkable stories and experiences. It's also a wonderful way for families who can't visit as often as they'd like to feel connected to their loved ones' lives here."
