Lisandra brings a taste of home to Avalon

Traditional music from Portugal struck a chord with residents at Avalon as part of a day of celebrating Portuguese culture led by our lovely Lisandra, who grew up in Portugal. She sang us some classic Portuguese Fado, followed by lively karaoke and dancing.

And what delicious food, prepared lovingly by Lisandra & her mum & sister, including Bacalhau com natas (cod fish with cream), cozido à portuguesa (a Portuguese stew) and pastel de nata (egg tarts).

“It was such a joy to bring a slice of home to work,” said Lisandra. “Seeing everyone enjoy the food and the music and join in with the dancing was really special.

“It felt like my family and work came together.”
