We’re proud to share that Willowbeck care home in Sheffield has been rated ‘Good’ across all areas in its latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.

The home supports up to 80 adults living with complex physical and mental health needs. Inspectors praised its kind and compassionate team, personalised approach to care, and commitment to continuous improvement.

A caring and respectful team

Staff were recognised for treating people with dignity and respect, and for really getting to know residents as individuals.

One resident shared: “I feel safe. All the staff are always there to support.” A relative said: “We have witnessed genuine care from staff.”

Putting people first

Care is tailored around each person’s goals, preferences, and culture.

One resident said: “I get a taxi to the Mosque for Friday prayers every week.”

Another relative told inspectors: “They’re helping [person] with their independence skills.”

Residents shape their care

The CQC also praised the home’s strong focus on co-production.

Residents are involved in regular meetings, surveys, and forums - with Service User Ambassadors helping shape the service.

People also help design staff training, ensuring it stays relevant and person-centred.

Skilled and supported staff

Staff receive ongoing training in all aspects of care provided.

One colleague said: “The training relates to the people we support. I see care work differently now.”

Amber Lea, Home Manager, said:

“We’re thrilled with this result – it’s a real team effort and we’re always striving to improve.”
