My childhood friend is a resident of Otterburn, she has been there for over 10 years now.I live in Cornwall and so I don't often visit so it is difficult to know how she is doing . I last went on 23.2 .26 and I was so happy to see her . The staff at Otterburn always make me feel so welcome in fact
I'd say they are delighted to see my friends best friend visiting and spending time with her. Val and Claire are so encouraging and supportive of me x they help me to understand my friends day to day life . I ask a lot of questions and they are always so happy to explain . They are so warm and friendly and they make a hard visit a positive experience and It is obvious to me that they ,along with her dedicated carer,
care for her to a very high standard but they genuinely care for her with all their hearts x it gives me great comfort to know this x Otterburn is a clean and happy place to be living in and I thank all the people who care so well for my friend x it is so reassuring
Reply from Chloe Woodhall, Digital Marketing Manager at OtterburnThanks so much for your lovely review. We're so glad to see you find our colleagues caring, and supportive of you, as well as your friend. We'll pass our kind words along to the team.

The staff are all really caring to my husband and myself and I cannot fault them. Lovely atmosphere and no bad smells. The manager and office staff are great too and everyone is so friendly. They let me know straightaway of any incidents that may happen either in the home or to my husband. I like it
that you can visit anytime of day and night and that there is always a nurse on 24 hours. I would recommend this home to anyone. Thank you for all you do.

My husband has been in this care home for over 4 years and in all that time he has been treated with respect and dignity. He is now non-verbal but the staff understand his needs and treat him accordingly. His room is good although it does need a deep clean atm. All in all I am happy with the care he
receives and don't worry about him at all.

Visiting my friend who suffers with dementia on a monthly basis it is a great comfort to see how happy he is and more importantly safe at Hillside.
The staff on his unit simply are amazing people, whilst he no longer recognises who people are there is still a spark in his eye and his smile lights up
a room when staff attend to him, the love, care and compassion shown really is commendable. Thank you, you really are special people doing what you do.

My brother was admitted to Blackmoor Care Home in recent months.
To date and as someone with previous significant senior experience in the Nursing and Residential Home Sector myself, I can honestly say that so far his care needs are being met with professionalism, sensitivity and understanding .
He
is currently placed out of area due to locality availability. Recently he requested to visit a certain venue in his home city.
Yesterday Blackmoor Management, Senior Management and Care Staff facilitated his wish by organising and accompanying him ' home' so that he could spend some time in familiar and welcoming surroundings with people who are known to him for many years.
Thank you , I do appreciate this gesture and do fully understand the planning, staffing and effort this requires in order to deliver a truly person centred experience.
Thank you so much to the two staff who organised and were present by driving and supporting him on this particular trip.
Reply from Jo Hemmingway, Marketing and Communications Officer at BlackmoorThank you for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful and positive review. It truly means a great deal to us that, with your own experience working in nursing homes, that you recognise and appreciate the level of care and commitment the team at Blackmoor provides. We're delighted that you're happy with the support for your brother, particularly in arranging visits to his home. Maintaining those important connections and supporting residents to enjoy meaningful time with loved ones is something we value greatly. Your kind words have been shared with the team, I'm sure it'll make their day

I visited Ravensdale on behalf of a friend whose husband is living with Dementia in a Care Home. I wished to ascertain whether he could be transferred here to be nearer the family home. I met Sarah (Manager) who discussed the circumstances and read his original care assessment. As a result it was
decided that his case was not suitable for the type of care given at Ravensdale. However, I wish to say that Sarah was very knowledgeable, sympathetic and kind during visit. It was also obvious from brief conversations I had with other members of her staff she is very well respected. In conclusion she offered to help in any way possible in our quest to find a more suitable Home as she has a vast knowledge of the caring profession. Thank you
Reply from Jenna Wood, Marketing Manager at RavensdaleThank you for taking the time to share your experience. While Ravensdale wasn't the right fit in this instance, we're glad we could help point you in the right direction, and we truly appreciate your kind words about Sarah and the team. We wish you and your friend's family all the very best in finding a suitable home.
