Thames House supports adults living with complex mental and physical health needs arising from a neurological or mental health diagnosis.

Many people have multiple diagnoses or risks that would otherwise require hospital or higher acuity care. With the right support, individuals can remain in the community, close to family and friends, reducing the need for hospital or secure facility admissions.

People living at Thames House are typically working-age adults with clinical care needs, such as bladder and bowel conditions, cognitive or mobility impairments, pressure ulcers, or respiratory conditions.

Some require care for interventions including catheters, PEGs, or tracheostomies, which can be more challenging when combined with a mental health diagnosis or behaviours of concern.

The home has 20 large en-suite bedrooms across two units, each with a shared lounge, dining room, and accessible bathroom.

There’s also an activities hub, accessible garden, and communal spaces for social connection and relaxation.

Through a multidisciplinary approach and needs-based staffing, the team ensures people receive the right care, from the right team, at the right time - supporting stability, recovery, and a fulfilling everyday life.

They have done a great job with my dad when he recently had to attend hospital special praise to Becky (Thames House) Dad name Bob. Things improved recently keep it up.

When I visit Thames House the staff are wonderful. They do everything they can to ensure that you feel like you are home. They are personable and professional and keen to go out of their way to help.

I visit my brother-in-law each week, taking my husband (who has Huntington's Disease) with me.
We are welcomed by everyone we see and offered a drink immediately. l we are told of forthcoming events and also given an update on brother-in-law's health, nothing is too much trouble.
