Potters Green supports adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities.

It’s part of Exemplar Health Care, one of the country’s leading nursing care providers.

The home provides complex nursing care from a team of trained Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants.

Residents also have the support of Exemplar Health Care clinical experts, including Behaviour Support Practitioners, a Speech and Language Therapist and a Consultant Psychiatrist in times of crisis.

Potters Green isn’t your typical residential care home or supported living service.

It supports people who are considered to have needs that are ‘too complex’ for mainstream care providers.

For example, residents often have a number of secondary diagnoses and complexities including behaviours of concern, tracheostomies, ventilators and PEG feeding tubes.

Potters Green has 38 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite, across four communities. This provides a homely and supportive environment that’s more responsive to people’s needs.

Residents can personalise their bedroom if they wish.

The home also has communal dining and living spaces, as well as an activities hub, a sensory room, therapy room, sensory bathrooms and large accessible garden.

At Potters Green, daily life is all about choice. Activities are personalised to people’s interests, hobbies and goals.

They focus on encouraging people to continue to do the things they enjoy, and enabling them to learn, volunteer and find new hobbies too if they wish.

The home has great community connections so people can remain part of their local area. You can often find residents using local amenities such as the pubs or visiting local attractions such as Kilnhurst Ings Nature Reserve.

The home has an open-door policy and welcomes involvement from family and friends.

The Potters Green Care Home is excellent, caters for everybody, very clean and friendly, residents are always happy. The staff are kind and caring and always there for the residents and families. Nothing is too much trouble. Very happy with the home, food is fantastic.

Potter Green is very clean. Staff can't do enough for the residents and also family members. Food is amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. Information relayed from staff to us regarding our dad. Dad is a new person from being here, from his previous care home. Rooms for the residents are ensuite and
can be made to the resident's/family's liking.

Hi, I’m Kim and I’m the Home Manager at Potters Green in Kilnhurst, Rotherham.


Exemplar Health Care has a reputation for delivering first-class, person-centred care, which is achieved by truly focusing on those using the service. I wanted to get back to focusing on the individual and making a positive difference in their lives, this is something that Exemplar Health Care is known for.


I am thrilled to be able to develop what will no doubt be a strong and successful team at Potters Green. However, I am most excited about sharing successes (big and small) with everyone who is a part of Potters Green - we have an exciting journey ahead of us!
