Dearnevale is brilliant with my grandad, they include him in everything that they do. He is very well looked after. I couldn't thank the staff enough for what they do. My grandad is fussy with what he eats so kitchen staff will make him anything that he wants. The managers are brilliant with him with
letting him be able to do his activities in his room. The staff for taking him out shopping. He is doing so much better in here than where he was last.

Before choosing a care home for my daughter Lisa, we looked round a few. Tees Grange Norton was defineatly the best. She moved in in December 2024. The staff are lovely the food is excellent and the standard of care is really good. We visit 4 times a week and each time stay at least 3 hours so we see
how attentive the staff are. There is never an unpleasant smell and you are always greeted with a smile from the staff.
Reply from Lauren Slater, Marketing and Communications Officer at Tees GrangeThank you for your lovely review. We're so pleased to hear that Lisa has settled in well and that you feel confident in the care she's receiving. Your kind words about the team, the food, and the welcoming atmosphere mean a great deal.

Willowbeck

from Ros W (Sister of Resident) published on 17 April 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
I visited Willowbeck earlier this month with my husband and mother. This was our first time visiting since my sister (who has memory loss) became a resident there, and we had overall a positive experience. As we do not live in England, our previous experience of the home was only through phone calls,
and in that regard we found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
On visiting, we found the same to be true. The staff that we met were helpful and communicative, answering all of our questions to the best of their ability. Some showed a keen interest to find out more about my sister from us - her interests, concerns, and the people in her life - so as to understand her current needs better. This was particularly true for the nurses and activities coordinator, and it gave us a positive feeling about her future care.
Reply from Lauren Slater, Marketing and Communications Officer at WillowbeckThank you for sharing your experience of visiting Willowbeck. We're so pleased to hear that meeting the team in person reflected the friendly and supportive communication you've had over the phone. We truly appreciate your kind words.

Our daughter is only 46 and needed specialist care, we visited a number of care providers to see where she would be happiest. After meeting with the manager and staff we realised how committed and caring they all were. They also care for the families just as much, going through this very upsetting time.
We feel our daughter is really well cared for by the staff and they have lots of activities to occupy her. We are so fortunate to have such lovely people caring her her.

Tyne Grange

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The premises are maintained to a very high standard and are suitable for patients with mental health issues who are located in their own ensuite rooms on their own floor. The staff in their entirety treat all residents with incredible understanding and empathy. The in house kitchen provides meals throughout
the day and if a resident misses a sitting then their meal will served at a later time. There is also a smoking area in the rear garden which can be easily accessed throughout the day. The most impressive aspect of Tyne Grange is without doubt the competence of the staff and this applies to cleaners, carers, nurses, and administrators.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care and kindness shown by everyone at Potters Green. From the moment my dad arrived, it was clear that this is a place where residents are treated with genuine compassion, dignity and respect. The staff consistently go above and beyond, not just doing their jobs,
but truly caring about the people they look after. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble and there is always a willingness to help, listen and support both residents and family. Their patience and empathy have made a very difficult time so much easier.

Over the past few weeks I have visited the home several times and will continue to do so in the coming weeks. During these visits, Shire Oaks Court has felt like a very positive and welcoming environment where the complex needs of the people living there are clearly supported. The staff are friendly
and accommodating, and it is really nice to see the way individual needs are recognised and cared for. It is also great to see the variety of activities available, giving residents lots of opportunities to take part in things they enjoy.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My son was critically injured in a road traffic hit and run incident in November 2022 and has been recovering since, in hospital, a care home, a rehab centre, and then we found Shire Oaks Court Care Home. He's 34 years old, and we feel Shire Oaks accommodates him and his needs. Socially, he is ready
to enjoy doing things with Aid, cinema, bowling, cooking, reading, music, and food experiences out in restaurants. The home is comfy, well-staffed and friendly.
Reply from Jenna Wood, Marketing Manager at Shire Oaks CourtThank you so much for sharing this - it really means a lot. We're so glad your son has found a place where he feels comfortable and supported, and it's lovely to hear he's enjoying getting out and doing the things he loves again. We truly appreciate your kind words about the team.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My childhood friend is a resident of Otterburn, she has been there for over 10 years now.I live in Cornwall and so I don't often visit so it is difficult to know how she is doing . I last went on 23.2 .26 and I was so happy to see her . The staff at Otterburn always make me feel so welcome in fact
I'd say they are delighted to see my friends best friend visiting and spending time with her. Val and Claire are so encouraging and supportive of me x they help me to understand my friends day to day life . I ask a lot of questions and they are always so happy to explain . They are so warm and friendly and they make a hard visit a positive experience and It is obvious to me that they ,along with her dedicated carer,
care for her to a very high standard but they genuinely care for her with all their hearts x it gives me great comfort to know this x Otterburn is a clean and happy place to be living in and I thank all the people who care so well for my friend x it is so reassuring
Reply from Chloe Woodhall, Digital Marketing Manager at OtterburnThanks so much for your lovely review.

The staff are all really caring to my husband and myself and I cannot fault them. Lovely atmosphere and no bad smells. The manager and office staff are great too and everyone is so friendly. They let me know straightaway of any incidents that may happen either in the home or to my husband. I like it
that you can visit anytime of day and night and that there is always a nurse on 24 hours. I would recommend this home to anyone. Thank you for all you do.

My husband has been in this care home for over 4 years and in all that time he has been treated with respect and dignity. He is now non-verbal but the staff understand his needs and treat him accordingly. His room is good although it does need a deep clean atm. All in all I am happy with the care he
receives and don't worry about him at all.

My husband stayed during Oct for 4 days for respite. Lovely staff very helpful and friendly knowledgable and understanding regarding my husbands needs. Very clean facilities, my husbands room was lovely and comfortable.
My husband said the food was really good and good qaulity. Management took the
time to show me around and answer any questions. Would happily recommend.

My husband has has wonderful care from the staff here on the pilgrim unit. He cannot communicate verbally any more but his face lights up when they interact with the.
He is treated with dignity and respect and there is genuine love in this place.
He has complex medical needs but these are being managed
well.
As visitors we are always made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble.
This is truly a caring place for those that can not be cared for at home.

My sister is well taken care of in here by the staff they do a brilliant job. They look after my sister and involve her in activities and outings. They keep me updated every couple of months on her condition. They also let me know her mood pre-visit.
