Wytham Lodge

from L M (Wife of Resident) published on 11 May 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The care home being involved since the discharge meeting at the hospital has been so vital, to ensure the care needs for my husband can be met, and the placement meets his present and future needs, which will provide stability for my husband. The visits from the staff to the hospital gave opportunity
to get familiar with my husband and vice versa. Communication with Whytham Lodge and being able to prepare his room has made us feel valued and welcoming. The transition to Wytham Lodge went smoothly, and my husband settled in from day one. The package of care from the whole team is excellent, as the focal point is all about my husband, ensuring the best way to provide a good quality of life and approach to meet his physical and emotional needs.
Reply from Jo Hemmingway, Marketing and Communications Officer at Wytham LodgeThank you taking the time to share your experience and for your kind words about the team at Wytham Lodge.
We understand how important a smooth transition to care can be, and we're delighted to hear that being involved from the discharge meeting helped provide reassurance for both you and your husband. Building familiarity before admission is something our team values greatly, so it's wonderful to know that the hospital visits and ongoing communication made you both feel welcomed and supported.
It's great to hear that your husband settled in from day one, we're privileged to be part of your husband's journey, and look forward to continuing to support you both.

Yarningdale

from Catherine L (Niece of Resident) published on 8 May 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Aunt has been living at Yarningdale for around 6 years. She spends much time in her room/bed sleeping but over the recent weeks, care staff have had more success in moving her to sit in communal lounges to help her engage with activities and increase social interaction.

Her unit staff contacted

me to ask whether I could purchase a remote controlled, reclining chair for her to make the transition from her bed to chair as smooth and comfortable as possible. I worked closely with the staff, taking their recommendation and guidance in choosing the perfect chair for her. They also helped me coordinate the delivery logistics, taking their time to answer all of my questions!

The chair has now been delivered and my Aunt is already using it and looks very comfortable in it!

As I live far away from Yarningdale, I'm very grateful to the team for their efforts in making this recommendation and doing their best to make my Aunt as happy and comfortable as possible.

Reply from Lauren Slater, Marketing and Communications Officer at YarningdaleThank you for sharing this lovely feedback. We're so pleased your aunt is enjoying her new chair, and we'll happily pass on your kind words to the team at Yarningdale, who are always focused on making every day better!

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I can't express how grateful I am for the outstanding care my brother Stephen has received since his admission to Acer Mews. After spending six long months in the hospital, where he faced numerous challenges due to his complex health needs, it was evident that he needed a more supportive environment. From
the very first day, I noticed a remarkable difference. Stephen was up and about, eating, and even starting to interact with the staff and other residents. It was a breath of fresh air to see him engaged and showing signs of improvement, especially after four months of being confined to his bed.The staff at Acer Mews are truly exceptional. They are not only kind and compassionate but also highly skilled in managing complex needs. Their attentiveness and dedication have made a world of difference for Stephen. It's heartwarming to see him smile and receive the time and attention he deserves. This experience has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders, knowing that he is in such capable hands
Reply from Lauren Slater, Marketing and Communications Officer at Acer MewsThank you for this incredibly kind review. In the main staff are very kind and caring in addressing service user needs that are at times very demanding and complex. The staff are welcoming and attentive to concerns visitors to the home express. I have been visiting for two years and I enjoy the experience that I find is positive. The home os
very clean in the main but I can only comment on Heather where more attention needs to be made tot the residents lounge!

Dearnevale is brilliant with my grandad, they include him in everything that they do. He is very well looked after. I couldn't thank the staff enough for what they do. My grandad is fussy with what he eats so kitchen staff will make him anything that he wants. The managers are brilliant with him with
letting him be able to do his activities in his room. The staff for taking him out shopping. He is doing so much better in here than where he was last.

Before choosing a care home for my daughter Lisa, we looked round a few. Tees Grange Norton was defineatly the best. She moved in in December 2024. The staff are lovely the food is excellent and the standard of care is really good. We visit 4 times a week and each time stay at least 3 hours so we see
how attentive the staff are. There is never an unpleasant smell and you are always greeted with a smile from the staff.
Reply from Lauren Slater, Marketing and Communications Officer at Tees GrangeThank you for your lovely review. We're so pleased to hear that Lisa has settled in well and that you feel confident in the care she's receiving. Your kind words about the team, the food, and the welcoming atmosphere mean a great deal.

Willowbeck

I visited Willowbeck earlier this month with my husband and mother. This was our first time visiting since my sister (who has memory loss) became a resident there, and we had overall a positive experience. As we do not live in England, our previous experience of the home was only through phone calls,
and in that regard we found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
On visiting, we found the same to be true. The staff that we met were helpful and communicative, answering all of our questions to the best of their ability. Some showed a keen interest to find out more about my sister from us - her interests, concerns, and the people in her life - so as to understand her current needs better. This was particularly true for the nurses and activities coordinator, and it gave us a positive feeling about her future care.
Reply from Lauren Slater, Marketing and Communications Officer at WillowbeckThank you for sharing your experience of visiting Willowbeck. We're so pleased to hear that meeting the team in person reflected the friendly and supportive communication you've had over the phone. We truly appreciate your kind words.

Our daughter is only 46 and needed specialist care, we visited a number of care providers to see where she would be happiest. After meeting with the manager and staff we realised how committed and caring they all were. They also care for the families just as much, going through this very upsetting time.
We feel our daughter is really well cared for by the staff and they have lots of activities to occupy her. We are so fortunate to have such lovely people caring her her.
Reply from Chloe Woodhall, Digital Marketing Manager at Scotia HeightsThanks so much for your review. We're so proud of our team and the care they show all the people we support, and their families. We'll pass your kind comment on to the team.

Tyne Grange

The premises are maintained to a very high standard and are suitable for patients with mental health issues who are located in their own ensuite rooms on their own floor. The staff in their entirety treat all residents with incredible understanding and empathy. The in house kitchen provides meals throughout
the day and if a resident misses a sitting then their meal will served at a later time. There is also a smoking area in the rear garden which can be easily accessed throughout the day. The most impressive aspect of Tyne Grange is without doubt the competence of the staff and this applies to cleaners, carers, nurses, and administrators.

We visit Paul (my nephew) each week, his room is always clean and tidy and his clothes in good order. He is taken swimming and to the cinema, today when we arrived he was in the dining room colouring. It is his birthday on saturday and he is having a party. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
