My husband of 60 years has spent the last 4 years suffering from dementia and several physical conditions. His life has been appalling because of the lack of care made available to him and I have looked after him myself. Suffice to say that I have made 4 complaints to the council, one of which was sent to the ombudsman and found that they had been totally negligent. I had never heard of Fernwood until it was recommended to me because of their ability to address complex conditions. Against social services wishes he has gained a placement there. This is the happiest time he has had, because every member of staff is so caring, knowledgable, and professional. Not only that; from the top management down to staff with lesser duties there is an absolute kindness from everyone, not just to their resident but also their families. My husband was very wary of a Care home place; I told him he could go home and I will take the place! We have both received outstanding care.

Our son was at Fernwood for many many months, He passed away February 2026. Whilst at Fernwood he received such wonderful care and it was his home his adopted Fernwood family he used to say. The staff were so caring, friendly and committed to their work. He was recovering so well until unfortunately he took a turn for the worse over just a few days. He would have wanted me to inform as many as possible how wonderful Fernwood is and I am doing so for him. Fernwood should be recognised for the loving caring home it is. Excellent, wonderful and compassionate.

As a family, we feel very reassured knowing Dad is in such caring hands. We are extremely grateful to the whole team at Otterburn for everything they do for him.

Good time had by all-

Overall, our experience at Thames House is good. My dad expresses that he is a lot happier here than at his previous placement. He has 121 care, however sadly I don't think he has built a relationship with all staff. My concern is that since my dad's arrival in Jan 26 he now spends less time out of bed. This is likely to be driven by my dad but I don't believe the staff actively encourage him, on occasions his personal care could be better. On the whole the nurses are good.

I find Peter is extremely well cared for and has settled in really well after a difficult start. The staff are all really kind and professional nothing is too much trouble.

Hamilton Springs is a first rate carehome their professionalism and care are second to non the staff are friendly, courteous and very professional and always at hand when needed. The buildings and facilities are first class.

The care is good but financial communications with the Council is very confusing for the family. He has a brain injury and memory issues and we need more support in managing his administrative affairs.

At present I am very happy with Zubeda's move to Greenacre Park. She seems a lot more settled and has made some improvements with her sleeping habits. She is now comfortably sleeping in a bed, rather than an armchair. This is a great achievement in her process of being settled with her mental health.

My friend is looked after well. She is happy to be here.

The staff are good with me and they treat me as if I was family and it is comforting to know that they care for me in that way and I appreciate it a great deal so hats off to them. I would like to say that I haven't had any caring like this in such a long time and it feels good plus I feel settled and secure and safe thanks to the staff.

I found my Mum is looked after as well as she would be at her own home. The staff are friendly, patient and very helpful. Any worries or concerns are dealt with straight away and I am informed straight away about any concerns they have.

No matter what day or time I visit the home is absolutely spotless throughout, including the residents bedrooms

The staff at Longley Park View Nursing Home are cheerful, caring and supportive. Our sister is very well cared for. A big thank you.
