Church Walk provides a safe and supportive home where adults with complex needs can live fulfilling lives in a community-based setting.

The home supports working-age adults with co-occurring mental and physical health needs, who require holistic, integrated care.

People living at Church Walk typically have a primary mental health or neurological diagnosis, including brain injury, dementia, and Huntington’s disease - as well as physical health needs such as bladder and bowel conditions, cognitive impairments, and mobility impairments.

The team is trained to support those requiring clinical interventions such as catheters and PEGs, as well as respiratory care, including airway management, continuous positive airway pressure, cough assist, and suctioning.

Church Walk has two small units, which provides a homely environment that’s more responsive to individual needs.

Daventry Unit is a male-only environment that provides a safe and structured setting for adults who may present with behaviours concern.

It’s a sociable, engaging community that fosters positive mental health and enables gradual reintegration into the wider community.

Cavendish Unit is led by a Registered General Nurse, with a team trained to manage complex physical health conditions alongside mental health needs.

Each unit has its own open-plan lounge, dining area, kitchen, and quiet lounge.

The home also has communal areas including a therapy room, salon, activities space, and secure garden.

Church Walk’s team is skilled in supporting people who display behaviours of concern, and provide positive behaviour support that’s tailored to each person’s needs.

People are encouraged to be actively involved in their care and daily routines.

Whether setting goals, reconnecting with hobbies, or exploring the local community, support is shaped around the life each person wants to lead.

Myself and my family cannot speak highly enough of Church Walk care home, meeting the complex needs of my uncle. All staff are exemplary, caring and compassionate. Nothing is too much trouble. They follow the interests of my uncle and his family and all staff go beyond expectations, treating him like
one of their own family. We feel so reassured and calm that he has such wonderful people looking after him. I personally work as a senior health professional and I have also acted in the past as an advisor. I can measure and appreciate what good care looks like. If we were to measure care on a 15 step challenge - exemplary. Care and compassion - exemplary. Leadership and inclusivity - exemplary. Meeting the needs of patients and their family - exemplary. We cannot speak highly enough of every staff member. A student commented to my mother that this was her best placement - remarkable. Please get in touch for any further testimonies.

Church Walk staff helped me sort out a few days holiday for my brother. Three members of staff attended with him and I will never be able to show them or thank them for the hard work they did with him. They made him laugh every day and they never left his side. They made my holiday with my twin the
best 50th birthday we could have asked for. I wasn’t looking forward to our birthday due to the fact we are getting closer to losing him, and being part of a twin means we share our birthdays. I know soon enough that I’ll have to have our day on my own but for now, I want to thank Church Walk staff for all their kindness and support. You are amazing guys.

Since moving into the home in June this year I have seen a big change in my brother, he has started coming out of himself a bit. He is always encouraged to do as much for himself as he can, he lives in a happy relaxed home where the staff are nothing short of fantastic he goes on trips and outings,
shopping and even went on holiday. The quality of care he receives is second to none and I can safely say when I leave there from visiting him I have no doubts in my mind he is safe happy and being looked after. His room is decorated to a high standard his clothes are always clean. The staff always make me feel welcome and I can approach them whenever I need to they are always happy to help. The care home itself is always clean and tidy and is decorated nicely the quality and choice of meals my brother enjoys are very good. I really cannot praise Churchwalk and its staff enough. One very happy lady.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.278)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.278) out of 10 for Church Walk is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Church Walk is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.278 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Church Walk is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 18 registered maximum number of service users is 3.6. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 3.6 = 0.278
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
