Welcome to Church Walk
Making every day better for our service users, Church Walk is a specialist, flexible, person-centred home for adults with complex needs.
Service users are encouraged to achieve the best possible outcome for their individual needs, which is why they choose to identify goals together. Encouraging individuals to be happy, socialise and develop or maintain lifeskills, our personalised care increases the level of fulfillment.
Comprising of two units, Cavendish and Daventry, the 18-bed home has a choice of four lounges and two dining rooms. Each bedroom is equipped with TV and telephone points, temperature controls and an accessible ensuite wet room. Firm believers in ensuring service users are made to feel as comfortable as possible, bedrooms are to be decorated to personal tastes.
A landscaped, sensory garden includes patio areas, a raised flower bed, a greenhouse and a water feature. Service users are free to use the garden as they wish, often developing hobbies to then enter into their individual activities plan.
A bi-weekly forum for staff, service users and their families ensure everyone has their say on future activities in and around the home. Meaningful and engaging activity plans are created, to include group activities, hobbies, interests and where appropriate, education or volunteering.
The on-site minibus provides Church Walk with accessible transport, enabling day trips to local attractions and annual holidays possible. Previous outings have taken service users to Hollingworth Lake, the seaside, and to the local football games.
Activities are used to encourage independence, and busy social calendars ensure service users are never bored.
The home maintains links with the local community including the local church, community venues - social lounge, as well as local amenities and leisure facilities.

The Review Score of 5 (maximum of 10) for Church Walk is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 5 out of 5 from 1 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Church Walk in Google's Search Results - more info
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 0 out of 5 from 0 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.
The Average Rating of 5 for Church Walk is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.
The 0 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Church Walk is based on 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows:
0 = 0
Target of 3.6 positive Reviews (18 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 0 Reviews ÷ 3.6 Target = 0
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Since moving into the home in June this year I have seen a big change in my brother, he has started coming out of himself a bit. He is always encouraged to do as much for himself as he can, he lives in a happy relaxed home where the staff are nothing short of fantastic he goes on trips and outings, shopping and even went on holiday. The quality of care he receives is second to none and I can safely say when I leave there from visiting him I have no doubts in my mind he is safe happy and being looked after. His room is decorated to a high standard his clothes are always clean. The staff always make me feel welcome and I can approach them whenever I need to they are always happy to help. The care home itself is always clean and tidy and is decorated nicely the quality and choice of meals my brother enjoys are very good. I really cannot praise Churchwalk and its staff enough. One very happy lady.
