Brook View supports adults living with complex needs arising from mental health, neurological, and physical health conditions.

The home is split into four units, each with its own shared living spaces including a kitchen, lounge, dining room, and quiet lounge.

In addition, Brook View has communal areas such as a therapy room, hair salon, activities hub, and accessible garden.

Each of the home’s units offers personalised nurse-led care, with a staff team built around individual need.

Pine and Willow Units offer single sex male- and female only- living environments, for adults with complex mental health needs who present behaviours of concern.

Maple Unit supports adults living with ongoing, complex physical health needs linked to chronic conditions, neurological conditions, and physical disabilities.

And Sycamore Unit supports older working age adults with a primary mental health diagnosis and co-occurring physical health needs, requiring integrated care not available with other providers.

Brook View has a nurse-led team with a strong clinical skillset, including general, learning disability, and mental health nurses, health care assistants, and activities coordinators.

The team is trained in positive behaviour support and is experienced in working with people who present with behaviours of concern.

Care is truly person-centred, designed around each individual’s goals and preferences. People are supported to live as independently as possible, enjoy daily routines, and take part in hobbies and activities that bring meaning to their lives.

My review is a general review, not pertaining to a specific date or event. My visits to mum are always met with smiles from all staff members I see. I have a good relationship with everyone and they always take time to say hello, ask after my young son, give me updates on mum and offer me a coffee!
Mum
is very settled at Brook View. I see how much she is well cared for - which is very reassuring for me.

My dad has been in Brook View since September 2019. He has received first-class care. The home is spacious, modern and kept immaculately clean. The staff are all amazing, professional and provide the highest standard of care. It is very clear that this is a vocation for them and not just a job. The
level of empathy offered, not just to my dad but to me and my family is second to none. I am extremely grateful to all staff.

The level of care my father has received at Brook View has been second to none. The home is very well equipped and furnished but it is the staff that makes all the difference. It is clear that their role is fully vocational, their empathy, understanding and exceptional level of care simply could not
be matched. They are the jewel in the crown and I am so grateful and appreciative of the care they provide for my father.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.188)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.188) out of 10 for Brook View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.750 for Brook View is calculated as follows: ( (18 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.75
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.438 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brook View is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.4 = 0.313
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
