My wife has been at the Anchorage since October. The level of care has been excellent from the outset, but what really stands out is the friendliness and caring of the whole team when dealing with residents and visitors alike.
There have been some minor issues with some meals, but the team are very
responsive and the recently appointed manager (Sam) has made strategic changes to put things in order.
I visit on a regular basis and have always found the staff most welcoming and they always find time to interact both with my wife and myself.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at The AnchorageThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're delighted to hear that your wife has had such a positive experience since joining us in October. It means a great deal to the whole team to know that our commitment to providing high-quality care, along with a warm and friendly environment, is being felt by both residents and their loved ones. We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding the meals. We're pleased that you've noticed the improvements being made, and Sam and the team remain committed to continually enhancing all aspects of our home. It's always a pleasure to welcome you on your visits, and we're glad that you feel supported and included. Your kind words will be shared with the team, who will be very encouraged by your feedback. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

My 93 year old mother has dementia and other health issues. When she was unable to care for herself it was time to find a care home that could provide care and enrichment for an elderly lady that had no interest in living anymore.
That was October 2024.
She became more intested in life thanks to the
excellent carers at the home, becoming involved in activities and excursions organised by the home, and who have taken care of her needs with compassion and genuine interest in her and the other residents. They treat them all as if they were their own mother or father.
The decision to put my mum into the care of Weald Hall was one of the best decisions I have ever made, and one that I do not regret at all.
I cannot recommend Weald Hall enough.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Weald Hall Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. It means a great deal to all of us at Weald Hall to read your kind words.
We know how emotional and difficult the decision can be to move a loved one into a care home, and we are so grateful that you trusted us with your mother's care. Hearing that she has become more interested in life again and is enjoying the activities and outings organised by the home is incredibly special for our team to know.
Our carers are passionate about creating a warm, supportive environment where every resident feels valued, respected, and truly cared for. Your words about the compassion and genuine interest shown to your mother mean so much, and we will be sure to share your feedback with the whole team.
Thank you again for your recommendation and for allowing us to be part of your mother's journey. It is a privilege to care for her and to support your family.

How I rate this care home is based on the level of peace of mind I have when I am not with my stepdad. I do not have enough words of praise for the care and how my stepdad has improved in his time at Manor Barn Care Home since he moved in April 2025. His level of fragility has significantly improved
due to all the activities to promote strengthening his muscles. He has regained all the weight he lost with tasty, healthy food.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Manor Barn Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. It really means a great deal to our entire team to know that Manor Barn has given you peace of mind while your stepdad has been in our care.
We are delighted to hear that he has settled in well since moving to Manor Barn and that you have noticed such positive improvements in his strength, wellbeing and overall health. Our team works hard to create engaging activities that support mobility and independence, as well as providing nutritious, enjoyable meals, so it is wonderful to know these have made such a difference.
Your feedback will be shared with the whole team, who will be very proud to know their dedication and care are appreciated. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

Kingfishers has improved greatly since the present manager joined. She is very approachable and encourages relatives to approach her if we're not happy with something. The staff work very hard caring for our dad and are proactive with planning activities for the residents. Everyone is very friendly
when we visit, which is most days! Most importantly, our dad is happy.

My mother was resident at Churchfields just under a year. In that short time, she enjoyed a better life than in the years before which had become difficult and distressing for her, followed by a rather worrying search for a suitable residential home. The moment we found Churchfields, we knew it was
the right place. My mother's time at Churchfields brought her true contentment and calm, the care was exceptional and we felt we had gained an additional family in the last months of our mother's life. The understanding of dementia at Churchfields is deep, understanding and compassion go hand in hand. Every aspect of care is superb, every member of the team knows every resident for themselves, the atmosphere is gentle and warm and there are varied and joyful activities, and it is excellently managed and resourced. I don't have the words to express my thanks for the way Churchfields cared for our mother, and how kind and thoughtful everyone was towards the whole family.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at ChurchfieldsThank you so much for your thoughtful review. It means a great deal to the entire team to hear that your mother found contentment and calm during her time with us at Churchfields. We are truly honoured that you trusted us with her care and that we could play a part in supporting both her and your family during such an important time. Your kind words about our team, the atmosphere of the home, and the care and activities provided will be shared with everyone here, as feedback like this means so much to those who dedicate themselves each day to supporting our residents. Thank you again for sharing such kind words. It was a privilege to care for your mother, and we will always remember the time she spent as part of our Churchfields family.

The staff at the care home have been so helpful and understanding. My father has been in hospital waiting to be discharged. They have been in contact with the hospital and have kept me updated. time.

I was so pleased Mum moved into Rosebank just over 3 years ago. She had dementia and poor mobility, she was overwhelmed, confused and under-weight, but on arrival it was as if a huge weight had lifted. The staff are a wonderful team; the care team, catering, maintenance, housekeeping, activities & management
provide that all-round care that allowed her to feel valued, relaxed, loved and safe. Home cooked food meant she ate well and she enjoyed a wide range of activities: trips out, time in the garden and with local school children, visits to Bampton Church, exercise classes, hair-dos, crafts, films, music, etc. Care extends to relatives; a cup of tea always on offer, with updates of what she has been doing. Ultimately Mum stayed at Rosebank for end of life care; I am so grateful for the caring, loving & gentle way she was supported through to the end. If you want a caring environment where residents are treated as individuals but live together as a community, then Rosebank is for you.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Rosebank Care HomeThank you so much for your thoughtful review.

From the very first interaction on the phone, then from when I visited the first time, everyone without exception, has been kind, caring, welcoming and professional. The advice and guidance has been invaluable in a very unsettling time for our mum and the wider family. Nothing is ever too much trouble

My Dad has settled in really well at Weald Hall, I can't fault the care he has been given, the friendliness of everyone working there at all levels.
The cleanliness is fantastic and the kitchen staff really care about everyone too.
I struggled with him moving into a care home and the team there understood
and supported me through the transition, I now feel happy leaving after visits knowing he is being well cared for and is being treated as an individual. They have gone out of their way to understand him and find ways to help him through times of agitation due to Alzhimers. I can't thank them enough and highly recommended this care home.
