I am so grateful for everything you have done for my husband and the improvement in his well being is astounding. The staff are all so lovely and looked after us both. Everyone is cared for like they are family members. We enjoyed all the activities and special event days. The outside bar area was great
fun which the grand kids also loved. Watching the planes take off with a lovely cup of tea and plenty of biscuits - just perfect!

I do not think anyone likes the idea of having to take a loved one away from a place and everything that they know and love. But from the very beginning leaving Dad at Weald Hall to the present day i cannot praise all the staff highly enough for their outstanding care and support! In a very short time
Dad has really settled in well and has recieved excellent care. The home is immaculate, the food along with the facilities and rooms are first class. The staff go the extra mile and beyond to ensure that dad is looked after and kept entertained and it feels like he's part of an extended family. Weald Hall has become a safe and comfortable environment for dad.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Weald Hall Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and kind review. We understand how difficult it can be to entrust the care of a loved one to others, so it truly means a great deal to know that your dad has settled in so well and feels safe, comfortable, and part of the Weald Hall family.
Your kind words about our team, the care provided, and the environment we strive to maintain will be shared with all our staff, who are deeply committed to going the extra mile for every resident. Knowing that your dad is happy, well cared for, and enjoying his time with us is exactly what we aim for.
Thank you again for your trust and support, it's a privilege to care for your dad.

My late husband came back from hospital to Kingfisher's with palliative and end of life care. He had been in Kingfishers for 8 months before being admitted to hospital and all of this time he had been given excellent care delivered with compassion.
It was clear end of life was near and Roxana went
out of her way to ensure he could come back to the Home with all the extra care that was needed.
He was able to show his gratitude when he did return - he was always happy at Kingfishers-and we his family cannot fault the care he had enabling him to have a very peaceful end to his life.
Thankyou Kingfishers too for the love and compassion you showed towards me and my family. I could not have chosen a better place to care for my husband when I could no longer do it.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Kingfishers Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a moving review. We are deeply honoured that you entrusted Kingfishers with your husband's care during such an important and emotional time.
It means a great deal to us to know that he was able to return to Kingfishers and spend his final days in a place where he felt happy, comfortable, and cared for. Roxana and the entire team will be truly touched by your kind words, and by knowing that their compassion and dedication made a difference to both your husband and your family.
We are grateful to have been part of his journey and to have supported you during this time. Your words remind us why we do what we do, and they will be shared with the whole team.

Weald Hall Care Home

I always had a dim view of care homes in general, lots of old people sitting around in chairs staring at the walls ,staff that didn't really care, not very clean etc.
Boy was I wrong, the first time I visited my mum, I was so impressed. This is a very well run place, Clean, Warm, and the staff are
amazing, you can see real dedication in all of them. just looking around at the smiling faces of the residents I found very reassuring. The setting and the grounds are beautiful. My mum who was 96 and had dementia, had always maintained that she did not want to end her days in a care home, but she always looked happy when any of the family went to visit. I honestly think that being at weald hall gave her an extra few years.

Thank you Weald hall, for taking such good care of Connie, my mum.

Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Weald Hall Care HomeThank you so much for your incredibly kind and heartfelt words. We are truly touched by your review and by the trust you placed in us to care for your mum, Connie.
It means a great deal to know that your experience changed your perception of care homes and that you found Weald Hall to be a warm, clean, and caring environment. Our team works very hard to create a place where residents feel safe, valued, and happy, and your recognition of their dedication will mean the world to them.
Connie was a very special lady, and it was a privilege to care for her. Knowing that she appeared happy and settled here, and that her family felt reassured, is exactly what we strive for. Your belief that her time at Weald Hall gave her "an extra few years" is the highest compliment we could receive.
Thank you again for sharing your experience and for allowing us to be part of Connie's journey. She will always be remembered fondly here.

I was originally worried about my Grandad going into care but my parents reassured me it was a good thing. I had to agree after my first visit to see him. Weald Hall was very nice & the staff made me feel welcome. It's right next to the airfield so you get to watch the planes and we got to play pool
outside. Grandad's room was comfortable and homely and he was very happy there. Grandad has a cheeky sense of humour and I could see that the staff knew that & enjoyed his jokes. They are all very kind and caring. I really enjoyed meeting a reindeer at the home in December & that was a really fun family day. My brother and I have also really enjoyed Grandad being a social media star. Thank you for looking after him.

We're so pleased you enjoyed the views of the airfield, playing pool outside, and taking part in our festive celebrations (the reindeer certainly brought some magic in December). Hearing that your family has enjoyed seeing your Grandad become a social media star made us smile.

My mother has been a resident at Kingfishers Care Home since the end of July 2025, following a hospital stay. From the beginning, our experience has been very positive, and we feel reassured that she is receiving safe and caring support.
The carers and nursing staff are kind, patient, and respectful,
treating residents with dignity and compassion. My mother has dementia and requires a high level of support, which the carers provide with understanding and sensitivity, including help during mealtimes when needed.
Kingfishers Care Home has a lovely, warm character and feels welcoming and homely. The home is clean, calm, and well maintained, with a pleasant atmosphere, especially when residents gather together in the dining room.
The new care home manager is very supportive and attentive to my mother's healthcare needs and arranges assessments when required and communicates clearly with us, giving us great peace of mind.
Overall, we are very happy with Kingfishers Care Home.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Kingfishers Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and positive review of Kingfishers Care Home. We are truly grateful for your kind words.
It means a great deal to us to know that your mother feels safe and well cared for, and that you have peace of mind about the support she receives. Our team works hard to provide care that is kind, respectful, and tailored to each individual, so your recognition of their compassion and sensitivity-especially in supporting your mother with dementia is very much appreciated.
We are also pleased that you find Kingfishers warm, welcoming, and homely. Creating a calm, comfortable environment where residents can feel at ease is central to what we do.
Your comments about our new manager's attentiveness and communication are especially encouraging, and we're delighted that this has helped reassure you about your mother's care.
Thank you again for your recommendation and for trusting us with your mother's care.

The staff are very welcoming and are open to chatting to us. Their treatment of my nan is amazing, always asking her what she wants to do instead of telling her what to do.
Most of all, they have made her feel welcome. I can tell that they love having her around and truly want to support her in the
best possible way.
It is amazing to see how involved the staff let her get in with the home, cleaning and everything she wants to do to help.

Jennifer and I are profoundly grateful for the wonderful care that you took of Ian during his stay over the past 3 years. We know that he much appreciated it too. In October 2022, Ian was discharged from the hospital with the prognosis of less than six months of life expectancy. The care and support
that you gave him extended this a few more years, from our prospective he was safe in your hands, and you gave us peace of mind, knowing that any health or medical needs were immediately addressed. This was invaluable. Thank you for everything.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at ChurchfieldsThank you so much for your deeply moving words. Knowing that he felt safe, comfortable, and well cared for means everything to us.
Your trust in our team was truly valued, and we are grateful that we could provide you with peace of mind during such an important period. Ian was a much loved member of our Churchfields family, and he will always be remembered with great fondness by everyone here.
On behalf of the entire team, thank you for your kindness and appreciation. Our thoughts remain with you and Jennifer.

He has made some wonderful new friends, both amongst the residents and staff, and genuinely seems to be very happy,
having discovered a new lease of life. The meals are outstanding and he is extremely well cared for by the attentive staff. He especially enjoys the many and varied entrainments provides with great enthusiasm. Excellent all round.

I am very happy and settled living at the Anchorage. I have made some very good friends. The level of care provided by the staff is excellent. The meals are also exceedingly good. When I wake up in the morning I look forward to the day ahead.

Over the last year there have been a few issues which have taken longer than expected to resolve.
My mother's granddaughter and great granddaughter wanted to visit on the way back from an event down south early onw Sunday morning, when myself and daughter phoned the home no-one was on hand to take
the call to ensure my mother was up and ready to see them, why cant the weekend calls be put through to the staffs mobile phones.
I wish we were given information about my mother's health instead of having to ask for it.
Reply from Roxana Ramona Negra, Home manager at Kingfishers Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We are sorry for the frustration caused on this occasion and understand how important it is for families to feel confident that visits can be supported, particularly when travel is involved.
While we are unable to divert calls to staff personal mobile phones, as this would not be appropriate, we recognise the importance of being easily contactable during weekends and out-of-office hours. To improve this, we will ensure that a handheld phone is carried by a member of staff during these times so calls can be answered promptly.
We remain committed to being flexible and accommodating wherever possible and to maintaining open communication with families. Thank you again for your feedback, which helps us continue to improve our service.

My mother has been a resident at Kingfishers since 2018. Having now passed her 100th birthday she continues to be cared and looked after with care and compassion by all the staff. She still continues to join in activities where she can and has always been happy at the home

I would like to thank all the staff at the care home for making the last three years of my mums life safe and happy, and when ever there was a problem with mum they always kept me informed. I know my mum and I know that she was very happy there. I would not hesitate to put a family member there again.
