I thought the house and grounds are beautiful. The management and staff are very welcoming, kind and very helpful. I was invited to have Easter Sunday dinner in the dining room with all lovely residents. I sat at a table with my resident husband, just two of us. It was an immensely enjoyable occasion.
The food and wine were very nice.

i used dungate Manor for my mother for respite care whilst I took a break. I went to view the home with my mother and as soon as I walked in I felt comfortable, the atmosphere was lovely, activities were going on and the staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. The manager Felecia was
lovely and understood my others needs and preferences and she draughted a respite care plan to show those needs
The menus were very good and catered for all diets. My mother made a good connection with Gabby the activities lady and the activities and events that were put on were great, everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves.
I would have no doubt in using Dungate Manor again.

When my uncle first moved into the Anchorage I was anxious that he might want to return to his home where he was struggling to live an independent life. After a fortnight of respite care he wanted to become a full time resident. This was mainly down to the friendly atmosphere at this care home. The
carers treat him with great respect and dignity. He enjoys many of the activities and is delighted by the catering and his room.
Thank you.

My aunt has been a resident since August 2025 and has settled in really well. The staff are amazing and she has gained in confidence since she moved in from living on her own for 2 years after her husband passed away. The level of care and support is a credit to all the staff. There are plenty of activities
organised and trips out, which residents can participate in or not whatever they choose. The facilities and garden area are all well maintained and provide a safe environment for all.

I selected this Care Home after searching the Witney/Oxford area for an elderly lady with Alzheimer's. Churchfields is in a beautiful village setting with patio and large garden areas; it's small enough to be personal and large enough to offer a range of good support staff and plenty of communal spaces
of different character, all with lovely views and decor. Lots of activities. Bedrooms are very clean and pleasant with TV and seating area and en suite bathroom. Plenty of good food, though at times a bit prosaically presented.
Margaret was only there a few months before sadly she had a fall from which she did not recover. However I am so glad she spent her last months in such a beautiful and friendly place. The staff really are exceptional and there is an atmosphere of genuine caring and enthusiasm to value people and maximise their quality of life. Sharon, the Manager, is a strong character who carefully selects her people - with the aid of residents - to ensure this human face

My wife has been at the Anchorage since October. The level of care has been excellent from the outset, but what really stands out is the friendliness and caring of the whole team when dealing with residents and visitors alike.
There have been some minor issues with some meals, but the team are very
responsive and the recently appointed manager (Sam) has made strategic changes to put things in order.
I visit on a regular basis and have always found the staff most welcoming and they always find time to interact both with my wife and myself.

My 93 year old mother has dementia and other health issues. When she was unable to care for herself it was time to find a care home that could provide care and enrichment for an elderly lady that had no interest in living anymore.
That was October 2024.
She became more intested in life thanks to the
excellent carers at the home, becoming involved in activities and excursions organised by the home, and who have taken care of her needs with compassion and genuine interest in her and the other residents. They treat them all as if they were their own mother or father.
The decision to put my mum into the care of Weald Hall was one of the best decisions I have ever made, and one that I do not regret at all.
I cannot recommend Weald Hall enough.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Weald Hall Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. It means a great deal to all of us at Weald Hall to read your kind words.
We know how emotional and difficult the decision can be to move a loved one into a care home, and we are so grateful that you trusted us with your mother's care. Hearing that she has become more interested in life again and is enjoying the activities and outings organised by the home is incredibly special for our team to know.
Our carers are passionate about creating a warm, supportive environment where every resident feels valued, respected, and truly cared for. Your words about the compassion and genuine interest shown to your mother mean so much, and we will be sure to share your feedback with the whole team.
Thank you again for your recommendation and for allowing us to be part of your mother's journey. It is a privilege to care for her and to support your family.
