My late husband came back from hospital to Kingfisher's with palliative and end of life care. He had been in Kingfishers for 8 months before being admitted to hospital and all of this time he had been given excellent care delivered with compassion.
It was clear end of life was near and Roxana went
out of her way to ensure he could come back to the Home with all the extra care that was needed.
He was able to show his gratitude when he did return - he was always happy at Kingfishers-and we his family cannot fault the care he had enabling him to have a very peaceful end to his life.
Thankyou Kingfishers too for the love and compassion you showed towards me and my family. I could not have chosen a better place to care for my husband when I could no longer do it.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Kingfishers Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a moving review. We are deeply honoured that you entrusted Kingfishers with your husband's care during such an important and emotional time.
It means a great deal to us to know that he was able to return to Kingfishers and spend his final days in a place where he felt happy, comfortable, and cared for. Roxana and the entire team will be truly touched by your kind words, and by knowing that their compassion and dedication made a difference to both your husband and your family.
We are grateful to have been part of his journey and to have supported you during this time. Your words remind us why we do what we do, and they will be shared with the whole team.

My mother has been a resident at Kingfishers Care Home since the end of July 2025, following a hospital stay. From the beginning, our experience has been very positive, and we feel reassured that she is receiving safe and caring support.
The carers and nursing staff are kind, patient, and respectful,
treating residents with dignity and compassion. My mother has dementia and requires a high level of support, which the carers provide with understanding and sensitivity, including help during mealtimes when needed.
Kingfishers Care Home has a lovely, warm character and feels welcoming and homely. The home is clean, calm, and well maintained, with a pleasant atmosphere, especially when residents gather together in the dining room.
The new care home manager is very supportive and attentive to my mother's healthcare needs and arranges assessments when required and communicates clearly with us, giving us great peace of mind.
Overall, we are very happy with Kingfishers Care Home.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Kingfishers Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and positive review of Kingfishers Care Home. We are truly grateful for your kind words.
It means a great deal to us to know that your mother feels safe and well cared for, and that you have peace of mind about the support she receives. Our team works hard to provide care that is kind, respectful, and tailored to each individual, so your recognition of their compassion and sensitivity-especially in supporting your mother with dementia is very much appreciated.
We are also pleased that you find Kingfishers warm, welcoming, and homely. Creating a calm, comfortable environment where residents can feel at ease is central to what we do.
Your comments about our new manager's attentiveness and communication are especially encouraging, and we're delighted that this has helped reassure you about your mother's care.
Thank you again for your recommendation and for trusting us with your mother's care.

Over the last year there have been a few issues which have taken longer than expected to resolve.
My mother's granddaughter and great granddaughter wanted to visit on the way back from an event down south early onw Sunday morning, when myself and daughter phoned the home no-one was on hand to take
the call to ensure my mother was up and ready to see them, why cant the weekend calls be put through to the staffs mobile phones.
I wish we were given information about my mother's health instead of having to ask for it.
Reply from Roxana Ramona Negra, Home manager at Kingfishers Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We are sorry for the frustration caused on this occasion and understand how important it is for families to feel confident that visits can be supported, particularly when travel is involved.
While we are unable to divert calls to staff personal mobile phones, as this would not be appropriate, we recognise the importance of being easily contactable during weekends and out-of-office hours. To improve this, we will ensure that a handheld phone is carried by a member of staff during these times so calls can be answered promptly.
We remain committed to being flexible and accommodating wherever possible and to maintaining open communication with families. Thank you again for your feedback, which helps us continue to improve our service.

Staff are lovely and friendly, but don't expect them to clean patients teeth though, really bad in that department. Otherwise pleased and satisfied, room nice and airy. Patirntfeedback from nursing staff is also lacking.
Reply from Roxana Ramona Negra, Home manager at Kingfishers Care HomeThank you for your feedback and for your positive comments regarding the friendliness of our staff and the room environment. We are pleased these aspects met your expectations.
We acknowledge your concerns regarding oral care and communication and understand how important these are to your mother's comfort and wellbeing. Please be assured that your mother has an oral care plan in place and receives daily support, which is regularly monitored and reviewed.
In some cases, clinical considerations such as frailty and underlying health conditions mean that certain dental interventions may not be appropriate. These decisions are always made in the resident's best interests, with safety, comfort, and dignity as the priority, and families are involved in these discussions.
We take all feedback seriously and remain committed to providing safe, compassionate, and person-centred care. We would be happy to meet to review the care plan and address any further concerns. Thank you!

My father received care at Austenwood that he thoroughly deserved in his final years. Care that we could not have provided at home. The staff were quite simply incredible. They are patient. They have a deep understanding of each resident's needs. They became a part of his family. To see him smile with
each one of them brought me so much joy, especially when he often didn't recognise me. The activities, the food, the cleanliness, the care, the professionalism, the warmth. The residents come first. I would recommend Austenwood for respite care through to full nursing care without hesitation. I challenge anyone to find a better care home.

My Dad has been at Kingfishers for 2 years now and is very happy there. He has a great rapport with all the staff and is looked after very well. Also, since the new manager has started the staff seem a lot happier which reflects the general mood of the home and I feel she is doing an excellent job.
The activities staff work very hard at giving lots of different activities for the residents to get involved with and the care staff are very kind and caring. Everyone at the home is very welcoming to visitors.

I was asked by my friend to look for a Nursing Home for her as unable to manage at home.
I looked at 4 homes and Austinwood came out top.

On my arrival to view the home I had a parking space reserved for me and a very professional welcome by Jackie who escorted me round the home. I was very impressed

whith what I saw. All the staff who I passed by on my viewing said good morning. Thr rooms where lovely and the one I thought would suite my friend was beautifully decorated with matching curtains and bed dressings.
The Cinema was very impressive with pretty and unusal decorations. Super.

I would not hesitate to reccommend Austinwood and the lovely professional staff.

I had to pick the right place for my mum to live. It was so emotional and I felt a great burden of responsibility. But the minute I stepped into Kingfishers Care home I knew! It was bright, friendly and filled with love. The carers and staff are amazing they put in 100% all the time. The food is excellent
