My mum has been at The Anchorage for two years so her second Christmas. The staff make everything very christmassy. Lots of entertainment for the residents which happens all year round as well. We are happy with all aspects of The anchorage.
It was definitely the right decision for my mum to be cared

I have limited experience of hotels and none of other care homes. However I have a high opinion of this one. I like the premises, staff and food. It took about a month to adapt from widower to care home ambiance, but thereafter all went well. I would recommend it to any friend or acquaintance.

I wanted to thank you so much for looking after my husband.
Even though he did not stay very long with you sadly, I did spend a lot of time with him at Manor Barn. I can truly say that every single person working there from cleaners, care assistants, cooks, nurses and doctors were exceptional in their
kindness and care.
The food was extremely good and I had a superb curry on a Saturday.
I also saw such lovely and loving interactions between staff and other residents, that I would certainly recommend Manor Barn to others.
At the end I felt both my husband and I were surrounded by a feeling of being loved, what more could we have asked for?
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Manor Barn Nursing HomeThank you so much for your incredibly kind and heartfelt words. It truly means a great deal to everyone at Manor Barn that you felt so supported during such a deeply personal and emotional time.

Wow. We were greeted with VIP parking, a lovely guided tour followed, it's more like a spa hotel than a nursing home. Beautiful decor, lovely Christmas decorations, amazing cinema room, bistro style dining room, lots of activities, al la carte food always. All staff are amazing who work extremely hard
to make sure all residents have the best life here. This is the best nursing home by far.

This home is decorated to a high standard and gardens well maintained. Did not put a x on food, drink, activities and value for money. The menu looks good with a variety of meals. The tea and coffee served, as a visitor, was good. My friend does not take part in activities but the list of activities
I have seen is varied. Do not know what the fees are as unable to comment.

My brother was well cared for by people who were both very professional and compassionate. They would answer any questions that they were able to and they all know how to make a decent cup of coffee for visitors. I am unclear about "activities" as I was only a visitor. Value for money is unknown as funded
by NHS but would imagine they would be happy.

Finding The Anchorage was the very best thing that I did for my husband. I looked after him at the house with Alzheimer's, it was so very tough, and he just ate and slept every day. Immediately after he arrived, he blossomed again and joined in, and his cheeky smile was back. He loved the kind care
and attention that he was given, and the staff just could not be kinder - everyone. And then as he deteriorated, but still had the splendid care. Thank you all so much.

Mum and Dad moved into The Anchorage in January 2025 as Mum's health was failing. In past years they had visited friends here and had already formed a favourable opinion. This was fully reinforced when I visited with Dad prior to moving them in. The accommodation is very warm, clean and homely, light-filled
dining room with tablecloths and napkins a nice touch. The staff are very caring and attentive. Sadly we lost Mum after a couple of months but the care she received in her last weeks was outstanding. Since her passing Dad has been extremely well-supported too. Finally, the meals deserve a mention, the chef prepared the food freshly every day, a big hit with Dad!

I went to visit a friend who is a resident. The staff greeted me with kindness and all were very friendly. The manager was very helpful. delicious! I would recommend The Anchorage here at Pulborough to my friends. Also me when I need care. xx
