After the loss of my Dad my Mum wanted a friendly, professional and cheerful place to live where she could feel safe and this has certainly ticked all the boxes.
She is very well looked after by all the staff and I can't fault a thing.

The Anchorage has been transformational for my mother. Following the loss of my father, a nasty fall and a long stint in hospital she was not in great place when she first went there in May this year. In 2 months my mother is a completely different person, the staff are all incredibly kind and patient and have gone out of their way to help her settle. She enjoys the well structured activities and social interaction but most of all feels safe and very well cared for. This is very evident and reassuring for us as her family. It really is a lovely place would recommend without hesitation.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review.
We are delighted to hear how much of a positive difference The Anchorage has made to your mother's life following what must have been a very difficult time for both her and your family. Knowing that she now feels safe,...

Everything has run very smoothly and in a very friendly and professional way from searching for the right care home to the organisation of moving my father in law in and the care he has received has been exceptionally good . Although he has probably not been the easiest resident and would rather be at home - nothing has been too much trouble for the staff and they always communicate both to him and us with a smile on their face. His happiness and safety and health is always top priority. Thankfully after 2 weeks he is going home tomorrow and is in much better health and mindset than when he arrived.
We are delighted to hear that your father-in-law's stay with us has been such a positive one and that both he and your family felt supported throughout the process, from the initial search...
My father has just spent two weeks at The Anchorage for respite care and we have been extremely impressed. He has Parkinson's and very poor mobility, so it was vital to find somewhere that could keep him safe while helping him regain some strength and confidence. From the moment he arrived, the staff were warm, patient and genuinely caring, taking time to understand his needs and treating him with dignity at all times. The standard of care has been consistently high and communication with us has been excellent. The management team are visible, approachable and clearly run a well-organised home, and all the staff create a calm, friendly environment. Most importantly, he is coming home in a noticeably better state than when he arrived, stronger and brighter. We are very grateful to everyone at The Anchorage and would not hesitate to recommend them for respite care.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that your father's respite stay at The Anchorage was such a positive experience. Supporting residents with Parkinson's and mobility challenges requires both skill and compassion, so it means a great...

There have been some minor issues with some meals, but the team are very responsive and the recently appointed manager (Sam) has made strategic changes to put things in order.
I visit on a regular basis and have always found the staff most welcoming and they always find time to interact both with my wife and myself.
We're delighted to hear that your wife has had such a positive experience since joining us in October. It means a great deal to the whole team to know that our commitment to providing high-quality care, along with a warm and friendly...
Overall I am very happy with the care my mother receives. All the staff I have had contact with are kind and professional. The home is welcoming and clean. There always seems to be a range of activities and entertainment to suit most tastes. My mother has commented that there can be some inconsistency with the food but I understand that the new manager has made this a priority and indeed changes have already started.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind review. We are pleased to hear that you are happy with the care your mother receives and that you have found our staff to be kind, professional, and welcoming. It is also encouraging to know that you value the cleanliness of the home and the range...
It was definitely the right decision for my mum to be cared for here.

I have limited experience of hotels and none of other care homes. However I have a high opinion of this one. I like the premises, staff and food. It took about a month to adapt from widower to care home ambiance, but thereafter all went well. I would recommend it to any friend or acquaintance.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous review. We're delighted to hear that you've settled in well and that you enjoy Anchorage life. We understand that moving into a care home is a significant life change, and it means a great deal to know that, after that initial period of adjustment,...
My father has been a resident at the Anchorage for almost a year, and it is wonderful to see how he has come back to life after the loss of my mother, having been married for 68 years. He has made some wonderful new friends, both amongst the residents and staff, and genuinely seems to be very happy, having discovered a new lease of life. The meals are outstanding and he is extremely well cared for by the attentive staff. He especially enjoys the many and varied entrainments provides with great enthusiasm. Excellent all round.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt and thoughtful review. It truly means a great deal to us to hear how your father has settled in and found renewed joy during his time at The Anchorage. Knowing that he has formed meaningful friendships, feels genuinely happy, and is thriving after such a...
I am very happy and settled living at the Anchorage. I have made some very good friends. The level of care provided by the staff is excellent. The meals are also exceedingly good. When I wake up in the morning I look forward to the day ahead.

This home is decorated to a high standard and gardens well maintained. Did not put a x on food, drink, activities and value for money. The menu looks good with a variety of meals. The tea and coffee served, as a visitor, was good. My friend does not take part in activities but the list of activities I have seen is varied. Do not know what the fees are as unable to comment.

My mother has spent a great deal of time at The Anchorage over the past 3 years. Both as a resident for over a year and respite. She is very happy and comfortable staying there.

Everything about The Anchorage is absolutely fantastic. The level of care, support and friendliness is outstanding, and they go above and beyond to look after residents. They make the transition into care seamless, providing love and care at every stage.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're truly delighted to hear that your aunt is enjoying her time at The Anchorage. Sam began her career in care at the age of 18 in a nursing home in Petersfield, where she discovered just how rewarding it is to make a genuine difference in people’s lives. Since then, she has built extensive experience across a wide range of care settings, including nursing, residential, mental health, domiciliary, and private care. Each role has shaped her skills, knowledge, and passion for delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
Although Sam explored other career paths when her children were younger, her heart always led her back to care. She believes in investing not only in residents, but in their extended families too, building strong, lasting relationships that continue long after people move on.
As Manager at The Anchorage, Sam is proud to lead a dedicated team and to help create a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where residents feel valued, and families feel included and reassured.
Known for her positivity, Sam often shares her three guiding principles: you only know what you know; communication is key; and there is a solution to everything. She feels truly honoured to be part of The Anchorage and is passionate about making a difference every single day.

Kim began her career in care over 40 years ago and has recently been promoted to Deputy Care Manager at The Anchorage. With a lifelong passion for dementia care and supporting the elderly, she brings an exceptional depth of experience and compassion to her role.
Throughout her career, Kim has worked across many areas of the care field, including domiciliary care, live-in care, and both nursing and residential settings. Her dedication and extensive knowledge make her an invaluable member of our team at The Anchorage. She is especially committed to making a real difference in people’s lives every day.
Outside of work, Kim loves spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. She also enjoys relaxing with a good TV show, listening to music, and taking peaceful walks in the countryside.

Rosen, affectionately known as Ross by all our residents at The Anchorage, has been a valued member of the team since 2007. With an incredible knowledge of the home and how it runs, Ross can fix, mend, or make just about anything, making him truly the heart of our home. Admired and respected by all, Ross brings warmth and reliability to everything he does. He enjoys every aspect of his role and is often seen taking residents on mini-bus outings, which have a hugely positive impact on their emotional and mental wellbeing.

Karen’s career has always centred around Customer Care; nothing is more rewarding to her than ensuring people feel truly valued and supported. With over 20 years of experience as an Office Manager, she has developed the confidence and communication skills to navigate even the most challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
A devoted animal lover, especially of dogs and cats, Karen shares her home with Milo, her very affectionate (and undeniably handsome) cat who never misses a chance to remind her of it. She has also shared the last 16 wonderful years with her partner, Kevin. The two first met during her time working as Cabin Crew at Gatwick Airport, a role that revealed just how much she enjoys connecting with people from all walks of life.
Outside of work, Karen can most often be found at Boot sales or Antique fairs. Together, she and Kevin love camping, walking, or bird spotting in Pulborough Brooks whenever the opportunity arises. They also enjoy a touch of nostalgia: one of her closest friends hosts regular 80s nights, and dressing up for her favourite era is something Karen looks forward to every time.

Jon has been in the catering industry for 47 years, with extensive experience working in hotels and restaurants. He held an AA Rosette for 20 years and trained at the catering college in Exeter.
Outside of work, Jon still has a deep passion for cooking and particularly enjoys preparing fish dishes.

Karen is our Housekeeping Supervisor, having progressed into this role after gaining valuable experience within the housekeeping team. She is always cheerful and engages warmly with both residents and team members, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
Outside of work, Karen is a proud mother of two and enjoys spending her free time walking with her family. She is also a passionate animal lover.

In July 2026, she was promoted to Head of Marketing, where she continues to champion connection, compassion, and innovation across the organisation. Kate is excited to build on this new chapter, driving the company's marketing strategy while continuing to make a positive impact for residents, families, colleagues, and the wider community.
Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time with her horses and her beloved dog, Selly. A devoted family person, she cherishes quality time outdoors with her two children, Josh and Daisy, and enjoys making lasting memories with her family and loved ones.

As Customer Liaison Manager, I support families in one of the most important decisions they’ll ever make, finding the right home for their loved ones. I guide and support each care enquiry with compassion and professionalism, ensuring every family feels heard, informed, and confident in their choices.
In addition to my work with families, I also oversee our marketing and advertising, helping to showcase the heart of our homes and the care we provide. I’m a people person at heart, and I’m proud to be part of a business that shares my core belief: life does not end with a dementia diagnosis. Our homes are places to continue living with dignity, joy, and purpose.
Dedicated and deeply passionate, I’m here to help, no question is ever too much.

Daisy is an 11-year-old community champion who has been visiting The Anchorage care home since she was a toddler. A few years ago, she created Through the Eyes of a Child, a heartfelt initiative designed to capture children’s honest reflections on their experiences of visiting the care home, helping staff and residents see the environment through a child’s perspective.
What began as a simple idea has grown into a meaningful programme that fosters intergenerational connections. Daisy encourages children from local schools to visit the home, building friendships with residents and taking part in activities, events, and outings. She has also developed feedback forms to ensure children’s voices are heard and valued.
Over the past year, Daisy’s compassion and dedication have been widely recognised. She has received a Champions of Care Special Recognition Award from Person Centred Software, the Community Cup from her school for her empathy and service, and the Saxon Weald Local Community Youth Winner Award for her outstanding contribution to the care home and wider community. She is also due to join the PDCCA Volunteer Friends Scheme in the New Year.
Now beginning to share Through the Eyes of a Child with other care homes across the group, Daisy continues to lead with kindness, empathy, and maturity beyond her years, proving that age is no barrier to making a meaningful difference.
