My father has been a resident at the Anchorage for almost a year, and it is wonderful to see how he has come back to life after the loss of my mother, having been married for 68 years. He has made some wonderful new friends, both amongst the residents and staff, and genuinely seems to be very happy, having discovered a new lease of life. The meals are outstanding and he is extremely well cared for by the attentive staff. He especially enjoys the many and varied entrainments provides with great enthusiasm. Excellent all round.

This home is decorated to a high standard and gardens well maintained. Did not put a x on food, drink, activities and value for money. The menu looks good with a variety of meals. The tea and coffee served, as a visitor, was good. My friend does not take part in activities but the list of activities I have seen is varied. Do not know what the fees are as unable to comment.

Finding The Anchorage was the very best thing that I did for my husband. I looked after him at the house with Alzheimer's, it was so very tough, and he just ate and slept every day. Immediately after he arrived, he blossomed again and joined in, and his cheeky smile was back. He loved the kind care and attention that he was given, and the staff just could not be kinder - everyone. And then as he deteriorated, but still had the splendid care. Thank you all so much.

I went to visit a friend who is a resident. The staff greeted me with kindness and all were very friendly. The manager was very helpful. I arrived at lunchtime and the food looked amazing and my friend said it is delicious. The chef gave me a pudding as I was sitting with my friend, and that was very delicious! I would recommend The Anchorage here at Pulborough to my friends. Also me when I need care. xx

We visited a patient staying at The Anchorage today. We called unexpectedly and were received by the delightful manager who took us to see our friend. He was in good spirits and was able to talk to us (in response to a question) about how kind and caring were the staff.

As we sat talking other patients began to gather as it was approaching lunchtime. Ther4e was a warm, happy, and friendly atmosphere. We left the house with smiles on our faces.

We feel that the care our friend receives at The Anchorage is excellent.
She is delighted with her room which looks out to the garden and pond.
The staff are very kind and caring and if they have spare time sit and chat to her.
She says the quality of the meals is excellent and she can request her favourite food.

Well done to The Anchorage, keep up the good work!!

I have visited The Anchorage once to visit my friend. I was impressed by the atmosphere, the staff, who all seemed very attentive, and the facilities. We joined my friend for lunch, which was very good. She said she hopes to go back to her home, but if that's not possible would be content to stay at The Anchorage.

I can't express my gratitude to all the staff at The Anchorage for the care they gave my husband, after he had had a serious operation.
He was given an extremely clean and very comfortable bedroom where he could relax and recuperate.
The staff were like family, they always had a happy and cheerful face and nothing was too much trouble. The daily menus were just as he liked it and staff often catered to his tastes.
As I am elderly also, everyone showed concern for my mental welfare when I visited my husband on a daily basis beyond the call of duty which I truly appreciated.

If ever I needed care or respite in my old age, I would certainly want to go to The Anchorage.

I visited a friend at The Anchorage at their Summer Party in September and was so impressed by the effort that had gone in to making it such a special day for the residents, there was a fabulous band, ice cream van, close up magician, great food and lots of effort had gone in to the whole event. My friend said she was extremely happy there and the carers were so kind and lovely, the food was great and she was well cared for. It's such a relief to see her happy here, I would certainly recommend The Anchorage.

My mother has been at The Anchorage for 2 1/2 years. Prior to moving to The Anchorage she had a very brief spell at another care home in Horsham that left her with a dreadful impression of life to come in a care home setting. The Anchorage however is everything that first home was not and she regained her zest for life. The care manager and the rest of the management team and staff are simply fantastic and completely focused on providing the best quality of care and support to residents. Never have have we encountered anything other than total professionalism, efficiency and commitment which has always been delivered in the most friendly personal way. The rooms, common areas and gardens are always spotlessly clean and well-maintained. In terms of fees it is competitive and represents excellent value. We count ourselves very fortunate to have found The Anchorage and cannot recommend it highly enough.

My dear friend has been at The Anchorage for about two years. When she was admitted there her health was indeed very poor. Now she is cheerful and active, this is all due to the wonderful care in the home. The care and kindness shown is outstanding. Every need is catered for and this is all down to the staff from the manager, deputy and all the staff I met, I can only say they are a credit to the company.

Daisy is an 11-year-old community champion who has been visiting The Anchorage care home since she was a toddler. A few years ago, she created Through the Eyes of a Child, a heartfelt initiative designed to capture children’s honest reflections on their experiences of visiting the care home, helping staff and residents see the environment through a child’s perspective.

What began as a simple idea has grown into a meaningful programme that fosters intergenerational connections.
