Ardtully really is a home from home, the staff are all very friendly and caring to both the residents and the visiting friends and family. My mother-in-law has advanced mixed dementia, and after just a couple of weeks, has settled into Ardtully really well. The staff look after her well and meet her
needs. There are days out, which are a real means of excitement and plenty of activities going on to join in with. Merjury and her team are wonderful. Thank you.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Ardtully Retirement ResidenceThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that your mother-in-law has settled so well into life at Ardtully and that you feel supported by our team. The place is excellent, and the staff care for and look after my father very well. The activities are always fun, including parties for residents on their birthdays. When we visit, they look after me as well.

As a retired paramedic officer, in my years of service, I have never had the privilege of attending such a well run and managed home. Nothing is too much trouble in the care and wellbeing of the residents, but in addition, their relatives are never forgotten and a cuppa goes a long way!
Regular visits
and trips out keep the residents mentally active - in short, it's the home that I would hope to become a resident here should the worst happen. I'm totally comfortable with Ardtully and, more importantly, so is my friend.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Ardtully Retirement ResidenceThank you so much for your incredibly kind words. To receive such a positive review from someone with your professional background truly means a great deal to all of us.

We're so pleased to hear that you've felt welcomed and supported whenever you visit, and that your friend feels comfortable and happy here, that is exactly what we strive for every day. Looking after our residents is at the heart of what we do, but caring for families and friends is just as important to us, and we're glad that comes across (a cup of tea is always waiting ).

Knowing that you would feel confident choosing Ardtully for yourself is a very special compliment, and one we don't take lightly. Thank you again for your trust, your recommendation, and for taking the time to share your experience, it really does mean a lot to the whole team.

My mother feels comfortable and relaxed in the care home and is less anxious than she was before moving to Ardtully. These observations reflect positively on the management and staff of Ardtully: they have made Mum feel welcome and part of the community. The level of care and support they provide is
excellent. Having the opportunity to visit church in person is a real positive for Mum.
Reply from Kate Wyatt, Group Community Engagement Manager at Ardtully Retirement ResidenceThank you very much for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. We are delighted to hear that your mother feels comfortable, relaxed, and less anxious since moving to Ardtully. Helping residents feel welcome, supported, and part of our community is extremely important to us, and your kind words are greatly appreciated by our management and staff team. Problems are always handled sympathetically either on a one-to-one basis with the manager or at 'relatives' meeting.
Currently, 'activities' and 'lounges' air and temperature/ are under discussion.

We came to visit my sister-in-law. As soon as we came through the door, we were made very welcome by two members of staff. We were shown to a cozy, snug area, and my sister-in-law was brought to join us, and we were all given a hot drink and biscuits. We stayed chatting to her until it was her dinner

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.952)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.952) out of 10 for Ardtully Retirement Residence is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 65 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 64 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.952 for Ardtully Retirement Residence is calculated as follows: ( (745 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 770 Ratings = 4.952
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ardtully Retirement Residence is based on 64 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2, which has been reached with 64 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
