My mother-in-law lived independently into her nineties, but the point came where her needs, including but not limited to dementia, surpassed what we could meet with in-home help or family-led care. During her time at Ardtully, she was given the dignity she deserved, including close attentiveness to her changing medical, social and emotional needs (they made changing GPs effortless). We were greeted not only with an offer of a hot drink, but a deeply caring and honest account of her wellbeing. The residence itself is beautifully decorated and maintained, closely located to Ingatestone station (there is also free on-site parking) but still quiet and restful. The staff were consistently professional, compassionate and personable, and the other residents were what you would want for a loved one - happy, well looked-after, involved and respected.

What began as a simple idea has grown into a meaningful programme that fosters intergenerational connections. Over the past year, Daisy’s compassion and dedication have been widely recognised. She has received a Champions of Care Special Recognition Award from Person Centred Software, the Community Cup from her school for her empathy and service, and the Saxon Weald Local Community Youth Winner Award for her outstanding contribution to the care home and wider community. She is also due to join the PDCCA Volunteer Friends Scheme in the New Year.
Now beginning to share Through the Eyes of a Child with other care homes across the group, Daisy continues to lead with kindness, empathy, and maturity beyond her years, proving that age is no barrier to making a meaningful difference.
The care home lists weekly fees per person from £1,400 for residential care (respite from £1,400) and from £1,400 for residential dementia care (respite from £1,400). Funding accepted: Self-Funding (Private), Local Authority with Top-up, Local Authority, NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC).
