Springfield Vale is a new specialist care home in Barnsley, designed to provide nursing care for adults living with complex needs arising from dementia. The home is set on Perseverance Street and brings a warm, homely feel across three small units, each with its own lounge, dining room, quiet spaces, and sensory bathroom.

The home has 33 en-suite bedrooms, along with a communal hub that includes an assisted daily living kitchen, therapy treatment room, beauty salon, and accessible gardens. These spaces are designed using dementia-friendly principles developed in partnership with the University of Stirling, helping people feel comfortable, calm, and in control of their environment.

Springfield Vale’s nurse-led team is made up of Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants, and therapy professionals. They provide person-centred, holistic care that’s shaped around each individual’s goals and daily needs. The team are experienced in supporting people who display behaviours of concern and use positive behaviour support to help people feel safe, settled, and able to live well.

People living at Springfield Vale can enjoy meaningful activities, build daily living skills, and stay connected with the things they love, all while receiving the clinical support they need to remain in their community, close to loved ones.

Exemplar Health Care has a reputation for delivering first-class, person-centred care, which is achieved by truly focusing on those using the service. I wanted to get back to focusing on the individual and making a positive difference in their lives, this is something that Exemplar Health Care is known for.
