We had a wonderful visit from local artist Debbie Way in conjunction with Independent Arts. She showed us portraits by Alexander Calder made out of wire. We drew each other’s face or profile using a single line, which was harder than we expected. We then had to follow the line we had drawn as a pattern with soft coated wire. None of the finished faces looked like who we had drawn, but they were all recognisable as faces. We certainly laughed and had lots of fun, which is what art is all about.
