Our summer party celebration!

It was a fabulous fun-packed day which both residents, families, and staff really enjoyed. We were so lucky to welcome Frankie Johns and his very talented grandson, Lucciano, to Upton Mill, who provided some brilliant entertainment. Lucciano was recently on the BBC One show. He said, “ I just want to make people happy.” Well, you certainly did that. You are a little superstar!

Following the brilliant entertainment, we had arranged for an ice cream van to come along, because what is a summer party without ice cream?

And our summer party was finished off with a carnival-themed BBQ. This included sticky chicken in rum and BBQ sauce, garlic and coriander burgers, chargrilled sausage, caramelised onions and lemon and parsley vinaigrette, watermelon, feta and fresh mint salad, potato salad, green salad, rice and peas, and coleslaw with mild curry mayonnaise. Followed by BBQ rum and sugar bananas, mango, pineapple, island sunset crumble, or fresh fruit salad.

What a perfect end to the day, thanks to our chefs and kitchen for preparing a delicious feast.
