National Dog Day at Westbourne Care Home

Last Updated: 26 Aug 2025 @ 00:00 AM

To celebrate National Dog Day, our Residents at Westbourne Care Home enjoyed a wonderful visit from our much-loved pet therapy dog, Teddy.

Teddy has been visiting us regularly with his owner, Karen, and every time he bounds through the door, he brings instant smiles and joy. Residents love spending time stroking his soft fur, giving him treats, and sharing stories about the pets they’ve had over the years. His calm and friendly nature makes him the perfect companion, especially for those living with dementia, as he has a special way of bringing comfort and sparking conversation.

Pet therapy is such an important part of life here at Westbourne. Moments with Teddy not only lift spirits but also provide gentle stimulation and companionship, which can be incredibly meaningful for our Residents. Watching Teddy make his rounds, enjoying cuddles and wagging his tail at everyone, truly brightened our day.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Karen and Teddy for making National Dog Day so memorable. We’re already looking forward to their next visit!
