Celebrating Louise’s Achievement at Westgate Healthcare To mark Louise’s achievement, Westgate Healthcare hosted a celebration at head office with champagne and flowers. Louise reflected on the significance of the award: “This recognition means so much to me. It gives me the opportunity to represent adult social care nurses at a national level and to share our work and achievements with a wider audience.” Louise spoke passionately about her 40 years of work in adult social care, highlighting the dedication and care she has given throughout her career. She will attend the formal Queen’s Nurse presentation on 29th November 2025. Her dedication, leadership, and advocacy continue to inspire the team and set the highest standards for care in the community.
The History of the Queen’s Nurse Award The Queen’s Nurse title is awarded by the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN), the oldest professional nursing organisation in the UK. Founded in 1887 with a grant from Queen Victoria’s Women’s Jubilee Fund, the institute was established to train District Nurses and improve nursing standards outside hospitals. Today, the title recognises nurses who demonstrate leadership, skill, and excellence in community-based care, including in adult social care nursing.
