St Pauls Care Centre

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
In August 2024 Dad had a fall at home and was admitted to hospital where he then developed sepsis however somehow he got through but it was decided due to other health issues that were incurable he was to receive palliative care.

After selecting St Paul's on recommendation he became a resident there,

and straight away within a day or so they had him looking clean and gave him a much wanted shave as Dad always shaved every day.

The excellent care and attention given to Dad bought him and us another 18 months after being told we had 3 months so thank you to the nurses, carers, chefs, cleaners, entertainers and the managers for giving us that.

My family have all said that we are putting down our names to go here if ever we require care.

They made us and Dad feel like a member of a big family.

Reply from Sarah Williams, Marketing Manager at St Pauls Care Centrehank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. Your message truly means a great deal to everyone here at St Paul's.

We are deeply honoured that your father and your family chose St Paul's during such an important and sensitive time. It is wonderful to hear that the team were able to make him feel comfortable, cared for, and like part of our family from the very beginning. Something as simple as helping him feel clean and giving him his daily shave may seem small, but we know how important those personal routines are in maintaining dignity and a sense of self.

To know that the care, compassion, and dedication of our nurses, carers, chefs, cleaners, entertainers, and managers helped bring your father comfort - and gave your family precious additional time together - is incredibly meaningful to us. Your kind words will be shared with the whole team, who will be very touched to hear the difference their work made.

What can I say, other than well done to Chestnut Manor Care Home for the way they put on a very good Valentine's day for the residents. I was invited to a special 3 course dinner with my partner, and with all the trimmings, of balloons, hearts, chocolate etc. It made me feel special to be part of this.

Our father was only at Riverdale for a little over a week, but the impact the staff made was heartfelt. During such a difficult time, he was treated with incredible dignity, care and compassion. As a family, we were met with nothing but respect and empathy. Though our father has passed away, we take
great comfort knowing his final days were spent in the best possible care. We cannot thank the team enough.

Care home staff made the booking for respite care very easy, availabilty was good and the period of stay was flexible.
As I did not stay there or visit my mother, I cannot comment on the facilities-but from the website-there was much to offer.
Mother did not mention any problems while she was there.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Westgate Nursing Home. From the very beginning, the care and compassion shown to our dad, Arthur, has been outstanding. Every carer is amazing - kind, patient, and genuinely caring. Seeing Arthur's face light up when he sees them says it all. Since moving from
North Middlesex University Hospital six months ago, his wellbeing has improved remarkably, and knowing he's looked after 24/7 gives us such peace of mind. The staff go above and beyond, from fun activities and events to encouraging residents to socialize, creating a truly warm and welcoming atmosphere. Every visit is a pleasure - we are always greeted warmly by reception, nurses, carers, cleaning staff, and management. The home is spotless, the meals are lovely, and every member of staff contributes to making Westgate safe, caring, and happy.
We couldn't be happier with Arthur's care and feel completely reassured that he is in the best possible hands. - Susan, Julie & Jane

Very positive. I was impressed by how quickly various staff members came to know my husband, his various preferences and his character. Also likes the activities, with some variety. I felt there was an upbeat atmosphere smiley staff. Also, maintenance were very helpful and quick in setting up the TC
and computer. Friends and relatives have commented on my husband's improved chattiness and mood. He was staying for respite, and I would hope there'll be a place for him if he needs permanent care.

Following a fall and admission to hospital for 25 weeks I was discharged into the care of Westgate where I learnt to walk, cook, self care etc. In that time I was there (4 weeks) + went from not being able to do anything to being able to function, nearly back to normal. The OT and physio staff were
instrumental in this progress and forever grateful to Debs and Caroline. The cares and nursing team were always very kind to me.

Mum settled in at Chestnut Manor Care Home very well and has made some lovely friends there. We had a few issues with the food alternatives for Mum but must say that since the new manager started everything was promptly rectified to a high level. The activity team are amazing, bring fun & challenges
to all residents and they are very attentive to all. Carers, support staff and reception are all very welcoming and a pleasure to chat to. Chestnut Manor is a very happy, safe & caring environment.

We're absolutely delighted to hear that your Mum has settled in so well at Chestnut Manor and has made some lovely friends - that really means a lot to us.
We're also grateful that you raised the issue around food alternatives, and we're pleased we were able to resolve this promptly once the new manager started. Your feedback helps us improve, and we're glad the outcome met a high standard.
It's wonderful to hear your kind words about our activity team - they truly work hard to bring fun, variety and meaningful engagement to every resident. We'll also be sure to share your lovely comments with our carers, support staff and reception team, who will be so pleased to know they've made such a positive impression.
Thank you again for your recommendation and for trusting us with your Mum's care. We're proud to provide a happy, safe and caring environment for all our residents.

Three years ago my wife became a resident at Chestnut Manor Care Home where she has received professional care with compassion, understanding and friendship, all this has been greatly appreciated and a great relief for our family. Chestnut Manor Care Home is bright and clean and more like a family home.
Its the wonderful staff who are at the heart of this. The carers, nurses, and all the support team who are part of the housekeeping, and the receptionists who are so welcoming. It demonstrates a happy team lead by good management. It has been reassuring to know that my wife is looked after so well. We meet many people in our lives and we occasionally meet people who we just know will make this a better world. The staff at Chestnut Manor are such people. It has been a privilege to know them and call them friends.

Thank you again for your trust and for describing our staff in such a meaningful way. It is a privilege for us to care for your wife, and we are grateful to have you as part of our Chestnut Manor community.
