I visit an ex-neighbour. She seems quite happy. Staff are very pleasant. Place is clean & tidy.

I cannot praise Burford House enough. My husband was not well enough to go home from hospital, and the staff at Burford House took my telephone call, arranged an assessment, organised the transport & medication and had him installed in a lovely room within 24 hours. Everything was done for him to make him feel comfortable and the staff were all incredible and so friendly. The food is delicious, and every care is taken to treat each resident individually. Visitors also are welcomed, and greeted warmly, and supported throughout. Top marks!

I came here not wanting to come to a care home. But it has been amazing. Everyone has been so welcoming and nothing too much trouble, from cleaning maintenance, servery, activities and especially the carers and nurses. I have loved being here and almost don't want to go home! Thank you so much helping me get better! X

Recommended for nursing respite care. Excellent with wound management and always very efficient.

I had superb care from the staff at Burford House, the day to day dedication and kindness they endeavoured to provide could not be faulted. The welcome committee and medical staff deserve special mention. I had a slight problem with the timing of meals, I felt supper was far too early, it left a large period of time between the evening meal and breakfast. I gather it was a staffing issue. I would use this facility again.

My worries about her comfort and wellbeing were banished by the superlative work.

If the catering could improve Chestnut Manor would be faultless, but sometimes the food can be incredibly bad.

However, we feel a discount should be offered for my dad in hospital for more than 5 weeks

The environment was clean + pleasant. Dining room + communal rooms are light, airy + well decorated. Food very good on the whole. Varied + tasty. Gym/Physio Room well equiped. Majority of staff went above + beyond with their caring + all worked very hard during their long shifts. Their smiles made such a big difference! I found the air mattress challenging to sleep on. There were no activities for Rehab patients at the weekends. Too much time spent alone in room - though plenty time to rest. No recycling of items in room bins? Overall very good experience.

It has taken time for mum to settle but the staff have been very kind and supportive. The staff always welcome you with a smile. My family have been very impressed with the staff and how clean the home is when they visit. I am kept informed of any medical needs for mum. I can definitely recommend the home.

I cannot thank Westgate House enough for the dignified and professional way they took care of my Mother. She was placed at Westgate house following a stay in hospital for what turned out to be end of life palliative care. From the moment she arrived she was extremely well looked after. All of the staff, nurses, those serving dinners, cleaners, were all so friendly, kind and welcoming with her, and treated her with the utmost respect and dignity, chatting with her and keeping her happy. She was encouraged to be active and mix with the other residents until that was no longer possible which did her the world of good. Her medical needs were attended to efficiently and effectively, her room was always kept spotlessly clean. The nurses kept me up to date at all times with any issues and were always on hand if I needed them. When I sat with her all night as she passed away they were looking after both of us!! It was obviously a horrendous time for me, but their support made it bearable.

Excellent in every way - staff, treatment, food, etc. I recommend it in every way.

The care and compassion that the staff and team showed my grandma during her residency and final days was so wonderful. I am eternally grateful.
