Riverdale Care Home is where first-class care meets luxury living. This 40-bed exceptional care home provides outstanding residential, nursing, respite and dementia care in a beautiful purpose-built setting, which offers private en-suite rooms and rooms for couples. The home prides itself on its array of lifestyle initiatives, which have been specially designed to promote the wellbeing of residents.

Chatterbox: a unique way of initiating conversations amongst residents and staff, by encouraging residents to ask a simple question and posting it in the 'Chatterbox'.
Make a Wish: residents choose a special wish they would like to fulfil, and these wishes are granted periodically throughout each year, giving residents and their families an occasion to look forward to where special memories are made.
About Me: an initiative designed to help staff get to know each individual, their likes, dislikes and what is important to them.
Lifestyle Pioneers: residents are given the opportunity to become a 'pioneer' in a lifestyle field of their choice. Whether they like to paint, garden or read, there is a pioneer role for everyone at Riverdale.

I would just like to say how very happy we are that my husbands mother is in Riverdale care home Braintree. From the minute you walk through the door you are met with a big smile and a hello. The staff and management are amazing, we are all on first name terms. The activities they have daily are very
engaging. My dad is in there at the moment on respite, and he is really enjoying himself. You have plenty of choice when it comes to food. Your family member is looked after to a very high standard. The rooms have en suites, and if you need anything they are happy to oblige. I can not recommend this care home enough. When we took my mother in law for respite in the beginning, because she had just been diagnosed with double dementia we worried that she would be unsettled, but no, within a day or 2 she was ringing us up and saying that she wanted to stay and didn't want to go back home. Highly recommended, could write more but no space.

This is my first visit to the home and first impressions, the home is beautifully clean, no care home smell. The staff are calm, helpful and appear to be dedicated to what they are doing in providing care to the residents.

A beautiful home full of beautiful staff. We were so upset when we knew Dad needed nursing care, but the team at Riverdale knew exactly what to do and say to make things as happy as possible. It feels like a second home for us all, despite our short stay. The staff gave Dad his dignity back and we can't
thank them enough. The home is in a lovely location with beautiful gardens and the decor is classy and homely. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Couldn't recommend enough.

My mum was transferred from hospital to Riverdale for end of life care. The staff were amazing from the receptionists, nursing staff and cleaners. Everyone was polite, helpful and caring. My mum received excellent care, and passed away, pain free and with dignity. My heartfelt thank you, to you all.

My wife was moved to the Riverdale Care Home, in Braintree, one week ago. Our two sons have been asking about Mum, how is she settling in? I would reply that she is being well cared for and is settling in.
Recently when they ask about Mum, I reply that I too am settling in!
The whole staff has been
very supportive of both of us.
The food and facilities are first class, also the weekly activities schedule, that has been emailed to me.
Besides all of the above, all of the staff are so helpful. What I really like is the great feeling that being obsessed with teamwork.
The customer relations manager collated all of the information regarding my wife and then passed the relevant details to each member of staff.
I have already recommended Riverdale Care Home to a dear friend.

A party was organised for my mum's 93rd birthday. The party was really amazing and was enjoyed by us all, a great effort was made by the staff on this occasion and when I go to visit my mum as well, they are very kind and caring. Staff go above and beyond.

Mum has been at Riverdale now for over a year and has received excellent care with lovely cheerful staff from healthcare assistance to kitchen staff.
We always feel welcome when we visit and have attended special events like the summer party, art exhibition, and recently a party for Mum's birthday.

My Dad is well cared for and is listened too, they are lots of activities for the residents and rooms are kept very clean, staff are all brilliant and appear to enjoy their job.
One issue I have had is that my Dad's clothes often go missing and as tumble dried often shrink so have to be replaced.

I have visited Riverdale a number of times and each time I have been impressed by the quality of care, patience, and understanding of all staff. Their demeanour is always one of cheeriness and nothing is too much trouble for any staff member. At very short notice their arrangements for a Family Christmas
Day had to be changed because of inclement weather. But, you would never have known it! Well done to everyone for a wonderful afternoon.

Over the last few weeks, I have witnessed and experienced an overwhelming lift in the staff's morale in and around Riverdale. I believe this is due to new management who displays a real presence around the home. The home feels a much happier place to be. Staff are much more motivated. Overall standards
in both care and support have clearly risen along with activities, cleanliness, and overall appearance. I feel very lucky to have my Mum as a resident at Riverdale. When I leave after a visit I feel she is safe and well cared for.

We have been coming monthly to visit a resident for the past 18 months. We have found the staff friendly and welcoming, very positive in their interaction with residents.
She is well cared for and always looks smart. There are high standards of cleanliness in the rooms and the toilet!
The security
is good and over we have been impressed with the high standard.

My dad moved into Riverdale in August and so far we have been very happy. Dad has settled in well, the staff are friendly and attentive. Dad is happy and being very well looked after, which is peace of mind for the rest of the family.

All staff at Riverdale were happy to help from the outset. They put a package in place to get my Mother out of hospital and everything was arranged quickly and efficiently to welcome her within a few days of my first contact which was crucial and very helpful. Mum settled ok, but as she was only there
for recuperation after an operation she wanted to keep herself to herself rather than join in with the full-time residents. The staff understood her needs and whilst encouraged her to come out of her room didn't insist or keep on trying, which was appreciated. We had some medical issues initially which the nursing staff handled quickly and successfully and the care staff looking after Mum's personal care were generally really lovely - different characters as always suiting everyone differently. I visited Mum every day at various times and was always warmly welcomed and treated like a friend which was lovely.
I felt Riverdale is doing a really wonderful job for all residents both full-time and temporary.
