Riverdale Care Home is where first-class care meets luxury living. This 40-bed exceptional care home provides outstanding residential, nursing, respite and dementia care in a beautiful purpose-built setting, which offers private en-suite rooms and rooms for couples. The home prides itself on its array of lifestyle initiatives, which have been specially designed to promote the wellbeing of residents.

Chatterbox: a unique way of initiating conversations amongst residents and staff, by encouraging residents to ask a simple question and posting it in the 'Chatterbox'.
Make a Wish: residents choose a special wish they would like to fulfil, and these wishes are granted periodically throughout each year, giving residents and their families an occasion to look forward to where special memories are made.
About Me: an initiative designed to help staff get to know each individual, their likes, dislikes and what is important to them.
Lifestyle Pioneers: residents are given the opportunity to become a 'pioneer' in a lifestyle field of their choice. Whether they like to paint, garden or read, there is a pioneer role for everyone at Riverdale.

Riverdale Care Home is a lovely place to reside, but most importantly, the staff are dedicated, loving, polite and compassionate. They study the residents and treated them as family. I cannot thank them all enough for taking care of my mum.

When visiting the care home, the service was outstanding. All staff members greeted me in a very friendly and caring manner. The stories of what events take place make me wish I was older and in this care home. There are a huge range of facilities available for everyone. The person I was visiting couldn’t
stop bragging about the friends she had made and all the fun activities they do. She especially enjoys going to the cinema. The team go over and above to make everybody happy. What more could anyone ask for? Thank you to everyone’s hard-work and effort. It is truly appreciated.

My nan was at this home for a couple of months. Every aspect of the home was great. Decor was homely and the staff - every staff member - felt like a family member. I am so glad my nan spent her last days here. The staff work to the top of their ability and go above and beyond.
This care home should
not be 'good', this care home should be the highest there can be.
Events too are so good and all staff take part to make it the best for the residents. Thanks to Riverdale.

Riverdale Care Home is an extremely friendly, welcoming and caring place to be. I feel like my nan is in a five-star hotel, her every need is catered for. The staff genuinely feel like family and treat us like we are being welcomed in their home.
They have a huge range of activities, daily and weekly.
There’s always someone looking after my nan, physically, socially and emotionally, for example, I recently took my nan out for lunch and had to bring her back as she was feeling poorly, the staff checked her over, sat and talked to her and made her feel better!
The manager is always there to listen and help, having a door-open policy, very caring and also very professional, leading by example.
Staff are always going to that extra length to make sure residents feel cared for, listening to them and adapting timetables to suit their needs/desires. I am so happy she is here, she genuinely has been given another lease of life!

Riverdale Care Home have looked after Mum for nearly a year now and are a great team.
Everyone there cares about the residents, knows them as individuals and looks after them really well.

My father was in Riverdale for approximately ten days after spending two months in another home. My family and I have nothing but praise for all the staff. They treated my father with dignity, respect and kindness and made his final days as comfortable as possible. The facilities in the home were amazing
and we were very sorry my father was too poorly to enjoy them! He would have loved nothing more than a beer in the little bar area! Thank you for making a difficult journey more bearable, your empathy was very much appreciated!

I couldn't have wished for a better home for my mother to spend the last months of her life. The staff were outstanding, treating her like one of their own family. The rooms were like homes from home and the food just like a five star restaurant! The care and detail to all was outstanding.

The staff are amazing and very friendly and caring. You can go to them for any questions and support and they will be more than happy to help. Since my nan arrived at Riverdale she is thriving eating more drinking more and her conversations are better. The care home is very clean always different activities

I have found Riverdale Care Home will run with very friendly staff.
The food is of good quality and well-presented. Having worked in care, I am very impressed overall with all aspects, laundry and housekeeping are very good being fast and well done.

It was a heart-breaking experience to pass the care of my loved one into the care of the Riverdale Care Home. What has helped so much is the excellent care she has received there over the past fifteen months. The ambience of the home is that the residents, their families and the care staff are one extended
family and are treated holistically, there is excellent care for all parties. The staffing has improved vastly over the past year in both quantity and quality. All the staff appear happy in their work and will always greet you with a smile and a hello whenever you visit. You are kept up to date with the progress of your loved one and involved, as much as possible, in their welfare. You are invited to the many events that are primarily for the residents. The highlight last year was the staff pantomime.
Except when health conditions are a problem, the home is an open house and provides the 24-hour care and safety that I was unable to do.

When it became apparent Mum would need extra looking after, myself and my husband looked around a number of care homes. During our initial visit to Riverdale Care Home, I knew this was the one. From the en-suite rooms and their own TV, the cinema room, fine dining room and the lovely gardens, this is
first-class accommodation.
Mum was understandably apprehensive but within weeks of moving to Riverdale in April 2022, I could see she was happy and she was full of praise for the care she was getting. The rooms are spotless and all the staff are amazing. I live within walking distance of Riverdale so I am able to visit often. Sometimes I arrive to find Mum with the hairdresser or partaking in an activity, something I never thought would happen. Mum and several of the other residents particularly enjoyed the recent trip to the garden centre to see the Christmas lights. I cannot praise the home, management or staff enough.

I really struggled about putting mum in a home and felt as if I was letting her down in some way.
It took a while for mum to adapt and there were a few tears from me, but fast forward three months, and my dear old mum has her old sparkle back.
She looks so much healthier and happier and her days are
structured and interesting - rather than just sitting in a chair gazing at the same TV channel which she did at home.
She has a better social life than I do. The home is visually beautiful and spotlessly clean, and the staff are absolutely superb., treating the residents with dignity and compassion. To see my 'prickly' mother, laughing, hugging staff and holding hands with them is lovely to see., and is a testament to how at home she feels. We, as relatives feel welcomed at all times. This in turn has made myself and my family more relaxed and not so worried and 'uptight' about mum's condition. I wish I had done this earlier!

Had my husband transferred from another home to Riverdale and from the very beginning was made to feel pleased. As all the staff made me feel welcome and most importantly my husband's needs would be addressed, which over the two weeks he has been living at the home he has improved all round.

Following a recommendation, we moved my aunt to Riverdale. Professional and caring staff assisted us to admit my aunt. The admission took place during Covid restrictions and we had to trust the staff and we were amazed by their welcoming approach. This continues to this day. My aunt's dignity, choice
and wishes are fully respected at all times. Encouragement to join in activities is taking place; but often refuses to attend group activities but enjoys 1:1 activities in her room. Riverdale is always very prompt in contacting us and giving regular updates both social and medical.
Excellent management at all levels gives the family confidence.
Excellence is reflected in every member of staff across the board.

My dear friend was 99 years of age when she finally accepted she had to go into a care home. She could not have chosen a better place to spend her last three weeks of life. Everyone without exception was treated here with such kindness. They were gentle with her and made every effort to engage with
her living there. She finally slipped away quietly with pristine pillows making her comfortable. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and attention. I only wish my friend had decided earlier to live in Riverdale.
