Riverdale Care Home is where first-class care meets luxury living. This 40-bed exceptional care home provides outstanding residential, nursing, respite and dementia care in a beautiful purpose-built setting, which offers private en-suite rooms and rooms for couples. The home prides itself on its array of lifestyle initiatives, which have been specially designed to promote the wellbeing of residents.

These include:
Chatterbox: a unique way of initiating conversations amongst residents and staff, by encouraging residents to ask a simple question and posting it in the 'Chatterbox'.
Make a Wish: residents choose a special wish they would like to fulfil, and these wishes are granted periodically throughout each year, giving residents and their families an occasion to look forward to where special memories are made.
About Me: an initiative designed to help staff get to know each individual, their likes, dislikes and what is important to them.
Lifestyle Pioneers: residents are given the opportunity to become a 'pioneer' in a lifestyle field of their choice. Whether they like to paint, garden or read, there is a pioneer role for everyone at Riverdale.

We would totally recommend Riverdale as a care provider.
During this time the staff became the second family to our loved one and as well to the family. We could not ask for anything better for our loved one during this time, we felt everyone knew us and we knew everyone here, we felt it was a real
close connection with all staff.
There were some ups and downs as well but generally, the level of care has been exceptional.
We always had tea and biscuits. We loved our garden visits and activities.
We were always informed about anything, it was very good communication. Staff went the extra mile to ensure that our loved one was as safe as physically possible. We need to thank everyone for all the help in achieving CHC funding, without their help our application would never been successful.
Staff could not have been more kind and helpful, even providing us with a memory book of our loved one here after passing away.

My mother was discharged from hospital after an overnight stay. She was not well enough to care for herself at home but, despite having only 24 hours notice, Riverdale accepted her for a 2-week temporary stay. Both my mother and I were very impressed by the helpfulness and kindness of all the staff
at the home. In addition, my mother commented that staff were also efficient and reliable in responding to any requests she made. It is also worth mentioning that the food was excellent.
The situation was extremely stressful for me but this was alleviated by the way the staff dealt with the whole situation and the consideration shown towards me. Their confidence, positivity, warmth and professionalism was reassuring. I would have no hesitation recommending Riverdale to anyone considering this type of care.

I found from the initial enquiry, the process of admitting my father was made as smooth as possible. He was in a bad way health-wise and I can only say the level of care and standard of service was superb.

Dad has been in Riverdale since October 2019. He took a few weeks to settle in, but the whole team did an amazing job to make the transition uneventful. In the last 12 months, he has willingly got involved in the many activities that the Riverdale activities team arrange for both the sound-minded residents
and dementia patients. I am in aware of the number and range of activities arranged for everyone. I believe that this mental stimulation has been a key factor in Dad coping with the lack of normal contact through this pandemic. It is fantastic that these are then recorded on Facebook for all relatives to view. This has been critical for residents relatives (like me) to cope with the lack of direct contact we can have with our loved ones. The whole team have worked hard and selflessly to ensure everyone is kept safe but happy. Thank you, everyone, at Riverdale, you all deserve a medal.

Our experience has benefited from the role of the transition coordinator. It has enabled frequent, honest communication which has been reassuring. It is clear our needs are considered alongside Mum's and that she is there to support us as well at a very traumatic time. Knowing you can speak to someone,
without judgement, who is concerned about our wellbeing as well is very comforting. This has been one of the hardest things I have done in my life. She has made it less scary and been invaluable for our family.

Having moved to Riverdale Care Home at the beginning of the year mum has settled in very well. Since being in 'Lockdown' Riverdale has catered so well to the needs of the residents, keeping them entertained and thereby looking after both mental well-being as well as their general health. I cannot express
how pleased and grateful I am that mum is being so well looked after.

Riverdale is a lovely home with extremely caring staff who are genuine and helpful both to the residents and visitors. A special thank you must go to the lifestyle leader who does so much to entertain the residents with many and varied activities and outings and the lovely people who do arts and crafts.
Riverdale does provide a wide scope of interests for all of the residents and has a very happy atmosphere.

We moved my Aunt into Riverdale after a bad full, her room was lovely, food very good and staff were all just fantastic. She was there for about six months and had more falls but always very well looked after. When she took a turn for the worse and we all knew it was near the end of her life, the staff
showed just how much they all cared by spending 24/7 with her and making her last couple of days so peaceful, as a family we really could not ask for any more than she was given. A very special thank you to the entertainment lady who stayed with her up to the end.

Since early August when my father went to Riverdale, we have been delighted with the level of care and quality of service he receives. He feels safe and happy which is such a relief for me and his family. Today for his 91 birthday, we arranged a family get together in the upstairs restaurant for 11
guests. The staff were so helpful and they had prepared a very nice buffet which was very reasonable. He had a lovely time with his family and even his great-grandchildren running around causing mayhem. Thank you from all of us to all the staff at Riverdale not only for today but for all of the care and support you have given my dad. He enjoyed his champagne and I suspect he will have a lovely sleep.

The home is very warm and comfortable, beds and rooms are lovely.
Staff are always ever ready to help you.
Happy, chatty atmosphere which helps when you are old and sad.

My Auntie loved Riverdale and enjoyed the activities and excellent food. All the staff were pleasant and really helpful. While I put value for money excellent, as I am sure it is, it doesn't mean that it is affordable. My Auntie would love to stay there indefinitely but can't afford it, so we have no
choice but to look elsewhere.

A lovely new building, everything clean and tidy. Management and staff welcoming and always shave time for you. Rooms are great with the added bonus of having a wet room, nice furniture, plenty of storage space. Food is delicious and freshly prepared. If Mum does not fancy what is on the menu they will
do her something else, no trouble. I have joined Mum for lunch on several occasions. Only thing I have noticed things are not always consistent, not enough staff, clearing tables, don't know how they are going to manage when more residents!

Having visited a couple of Care Homes before finding Riverdale, I instantly knew that this was the one I wanted my Dad to live in. It is like a 5* hotel rather than a typical care home and I can’t recommend it highly enough. It is modern, clean and such a friendly place and there is always plenty of
laughter. The excellent staff are all very kind, caring and wonderful with the residents and always have time to talk to the relatives about any concerns. There are plenty of activities organised to keep everyone busy and stimulated and they even take them out and about for a change of scenery. All the meals are homemade, nutritious and very tasty and friends/relatives are very welcome to join the residents for lunch. It has made such a difference to my dad’s life as well as mine knowing that he is happy, safe and being well cared for. He was very lonely prior to moving to Riverdale but now has plenty of happy smiling faces around him. My thanks to all the staff.

I visited my mother four times while she was in respite care. Each time staff were very welcoming and attentive offering tea on arrival. From my mother's comments, she was clearly very happy during her stay and was full of praise for the staff. I stayed for lunch on three occasions and each time the
quality of the food and the conditions in which it was served was excellent. No hesitation in recommending this home.
