Riverdale Care Home is where first-class care meets luxury living. This 40-bed exceptional care home provides outstanding residential, nursing, respite and dementia care in a beautiful purpose-built setting, which offers private en-suite rooms and rooms for couples. The home prides itself on its array of lifestyle initiatives, which have been specially designed to promote the wellbeing of residents.

These include:
Chatterbox: a unique way of initiating conversations amongst residents and staff, by encouraging residents to ask a simple question and posting it in the 'Chatterbox'.
Make a Wish: residents choose a special wish they would like to fulfil, and these wishes are granted periodically throughout each year, giving residents and their families an occasion to look forward to where special memories are made.
About Me: an initiative designed to help staff get to know each individual, their likes, dislikes and what is important to them.
Lifestyle Pioneers: residents are given the opportunity to become a 'pioneer' in a lifestyle field of their choice. Whether they like to paint, garden or read, there is a pioneer role for everyone at Riverdale.

Visited a friend in one of your care homes. Was very impressed. Lovely and clean. Staff very helpful. My friend was making mince pies. She is enjoying her stay very much. Would definitely let friends and family know of such a lovely home.

Mum attended for nearly 4 weeks respite and when she came home she was absolutely full of compliments for the place. The staff and management fell over backwards to please her and she said the lady chef was wonderful, as was the homemade food. Mum was entertained throughout and looks forward to going
back for another stay. The whole place is so clean and new, it is like a 5-star hotel. I am so pleased we discovered this place, it is a relief to go on holiday and know that mum will be enjoying herself. It would be lovely if there was a guest quarter, so my sister who travels from London on public transport could stay and not have to stay in a hotel alone.

My father came to you for respite care following the passing of his wife, our mum, in late August. Our family bereavement has had a significant effect on dad, to the point we all felt he needed support to help reinstate some normality.


Over the three weeks that he has been with you, we have seen

a huge improvement in his health and well being which is all down to the help of your team. Dad is so happy staying at Riverdale, we are working together to help him become a permeant resident.


Thank you all so much. We now see smiles and laughter where we saw unhappiness and tears. Nothing can change the past few months but the Riverdale staff have helped enormously to bring some stability and normality back to a very proud man. Thank you.

My mother has just spent two weeks in respite care at Riverdale care home, Braintree and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I have had a previous poor care home experience which to Riverdale is just not comparable. The care my mother received has been of the highest quality. The staff were genuinely
very kind and caring, treating her with dignity and spent a lot of time talking to her and constantly assessing her needs. She was well stimulated with appropriate activities. Due to the lovely food, my mother has actually gained weight during her stay. I would have no hesitation to leave my mother in the safe hands of this care home.

The care provided by every members of staff for my mother, who was here for respite, was great. They were all so eager to please and their attitude towards their work was so professional. I would recommend this new care home above all the other care homes I have seen and reviewed in this area.

My time spent here was full of loving care from the staff and management.
The surroundings are very homely and clean, and my room was very comfortable.
I enjoyed all my meals here which were to a high standard.
I had fun with the activities and it was great to learn new things.
They made me feel
like I was part of a family, and because of that I now return to see them regularly where I'm always welcomed.

My mum has stayed at Riverdale for a month for respite. She has absolutely loved her stay there and will definitely miss all the staff, the wonderful home cooked meals and the beautiful clean luxurious surroundings.
She has totally enjoyed all the fun activities that she has participated in, which
have helped her in her recuperation.
Myself and my family couldn't have asked for a better place for her to recuperate.
The staff are truly wonderful and caring, they've become like an extended family to us.
My mum will miss them terribly, although we will call in to see them for coffee mornings and other events.
I truly can't thank the manager and all the staff at Riverdale enough, for how well they have treated my mum and how well they have interacted with myself and my brother. They have our full support and full recommendation.

On arrival, we were met by very friendly, helpful and informative staff. The home is spanking new and, as such, exceptionally clean and 'fresh'.
The decoration is excellent - calming and tasteful.
The staff were exceptional - very attentive, kind, interested and caring.
Our friend, who's currently
a resident, has made huge progress in a very short time.
Everyone is very proud of this new home and rightly so.
