The decision to have our dad taken into care wasn't an easy decision and was taken out of our hands due to personal circumstances. Our dad has now been a resident at Hampden Hall for over a year and he has settled in very well, at the first he tried to escape a couple of times, soon caught and back
to his room. The staff and everyone at Hampden are very helpful, polite and do so much for all the residents not just my dad. He has been made very welcome which is lovely to see and hear especially as my sister and myself cannot visit on a regular basis as we both live so far away. Thank you to the team that has helped us to have a video call meeting every week with our dad, it helps us to see that he is keeping well and so well looked after by everyone. Special thanks to the staff on Pine Unit its nice to see him happy and smiling again in everything you do for him we really appreciate it.
Reply from Lucy Mcshane, Marketing Assistant at Hampden Hall Care Centre

Thank you so much for your lovely words. We know how hard it can be being far away, so we're delighted to hear the video calls bring you comfort and reassurance. It's wonderful to hear your dad has settled in and is happy - The team at Hampden Hall, especially those on Pine Unit, will be so pleased to hear your lovely feedback.

Byron House is a lovely, homely, welcoming care home. Mum has settled well and the care she has been shown has been exceptional. Family and friends are welcomed, and are even invited to join some of the activities. I think this really helps the residents feel more at home. Being a smaller home gives
it a lovely, intimate feel, without being overwhelming, which is perfect for Mum.

A well managed Nursing Home with comfortable rooms and attentive staff.
Food is good despite recent staffing problems. My daughter and I have particularly enjoyed having lunch at the home with my wife - who is pleased for herself that there are always alternatives to the set menus,
The staff are friendly
and caring and always helpful. Activities are well organised including the special events to which families are invited.
The only downside we can think of, is the almost constant noise (beeps) from the call system, but this is ignored after a while.
Reply from Sarah Williams, Marketing Manager at Byron House Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your experience with us. We are so pleased to hear that you find our home to be well managed, with caring staff, comfortable rooms, and enjoyable food options - and that you and your daughter have been able to share special moments over lunch with your wife. It's wonderful to know that our activities and events are also adding to the experience for you and your family. We also appreciate your constructive comment regarding the call system. While resident safety will always remain our top priority, we understand how the beeping can sometimes be disruptive, and we are exploring ways to reduce this impact without compromising care.Your kind words will be shared with our team, who will be encouraged by your recognition of their hard work and dedication. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback.

Dad has now been a resident at Hampden hall for 6 months. The decision for him to go into care was not an easy one however seeing him now we absolutely know it was the right thing to do. The staff have gone out of their way to make Dad welcome and feel part of the home. Although hesitant at first
he now participates in the activities provided. Special thanks to two particular ladies on Pine floor for all they are doing for Dad.
It's so reassuring to know he is happy and being taken care of xx

Mum was moved in Hampden Hall after a long stay in hospital, but we then decided it was the safest and best place for her to be . My dad was at Hampden Hall following a stay in hospital from April to Mid July before being moved to a care home closer to me in Norfolk.
The staff worked hard to tailor the care to his needs and behaviour as he has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's dementia.
A special note to the member
of staff who arranged for my father to be able to see the live recording of my brothers funeral as he was not well enough to attend - an extra touch that meant the world to me and dad.
All the team were friendly and we felt that dad was well looked after, we were lucky that dad was allocated to Hampden Hall for the initial assessment and then allowed to stay whilst the move was arranged.
Thanks to all.

The love and care my mother in law received at Hampden Hall was excellent. She lived there for almost 4 years and it was her home; as her family we also felt at home. She enjoyed the varied and interesting wellbeing activities and received great nursing and personal care. The leadership of Hampden
Hall set the tone of respect and care and every member of the team from the receptionists, the manager, the floor manager, the wellbeing team, the cleaners and all the nurses and care staff treated us and my mother in law with respect and dignity. I cannot recommend Hampden Hall highly enough. Thank you to everyone who works there for your care and support over the last 4 years.

My father is well cared for at Hampden Hall Care Centre. Following a fall at home my father arrived at the centre and was anxious and unsettled, with the care and support of the staff he has settled into a new routine and is encouraged to do as much as he can independently. His wellbeing has improved
and he is now much happier than when he lived alone. From a family point of view the care staff have been very supportive, friendly and easy to talk to. We know he is safe, well cared for an has the support he needs when he needs it.

I have been very pleased with the way all the staff react towards my mother since her arrival. They are cheerful and kind and react sympathetically to her needs and wishes. Their attitude is so important to me as with her fluctuating dementia, her behaviour can be inconsistent. Her appearance is always
that of being well cared for. The qualified staff are good at asking for family input into decision making. The home has a welcoming atmosphere starting with a great reception team and opening visiting shows there is a true picture of how everything functions.

I would without hesitation recommend Hampden Hall Care Home. My stepdad was fortunate to finally after 5 years fighting for help offered a permanent placement and I was so grateful finally he was close to enable me to visit daily before his final journey. Dementia is a cruel disease that takes a piece

Mum / Nanna has been a resident at Hampden Hall since Spring 2023; she arrived from a protracted stay in hospital care and we were fortunate enough to secure her a forever home here. She had had to give up her dear cat and little cottage and had been fiercely independent; Hampden Hall staff managed
a tricky transition; they were, and continue to be, wonderful. The love, care and dedication is obvious the moment you step into the home. The peace of mind this has given the entire family is immeasurable. We know that her final years are good ones: dignity, love and quality care afford the staff every star. Thank you to you all. I have just got home and poured myself a glass of wine after visiting my relative. The reason I have said that is that I know I can relax and enjoy it because I know they are safe and looked after. I think its important for you all to know what an important job you do and how much it means to the families
of residents.
I know its a demanding job, but to hear my Dad saying he has had a lovely shower, or that he really appreciates how quickly you attend to him, or that he has had a great chat with one of the carers means the absolute world.
So keep doing what you do and know it makes such a difference to so many. Thank you.
