Residents of Orchard House Care Home enjoyed a truly inspiring Book Lovers Day as they welcomed talented Isle of Wight authors for a day of readings, conversation, and delicious treats. The morning began with Kevin Wilson, who read from his latest book and shared the personal journey of how he became an author. In the afternoon, residents were captivated by Kathryn Rossati-Brown, an autistic writer, who spoke bravely and openly about how autism has inspired her writing. Her heartfelt words about her experiences as an autistic author touched everyone in the room. To make the day even sweeter, Orchard House’s chef prepared a selection of homemade cupcakes, while signed copies of the authors’ to the home’s library a lasting reminder of the special occasion. Residents expressed how much they enjoyed the chance to meet local writers face to face, listen to their stories, and share in a love of books.
