Astley View brings Wizard of Oz magic to its Summer Fayre

Astley View Care Home in Chorley welcomed families, neighbours and local friends on Saturday 30th August for a Summer Fayre with a Wizard of Oz twist.

Residents loved helping to plan the event and seeing their home transformed with yellow brick road decorations, colourful outfits and plenty of sparkle. On the day, everyone enjoyed stalls, live entertainment, delicious food and activities for all ages – from children’s games and crafts to face painting and music in the gardens.

“It was wonderful to see families, neighbours and local businesses come together with our residents to celebrate in such a joyful way,” said Christina Durnan, Registered Manager at Astley View. “Events like this mean so much to the people who live and work here, and the Wizard of Oz theme was a hit with everyone.”

The fayre raised funds for the home’s activities programme, helping to support future events for the local community and residents.
