From 1st contact/enquiry for respite care through to discharge home, the support and care provided have been excellent. Every single member of staff, including reception and housekeeping, have been helpful, respectful and kind. The care staff have gone above and beyond in their care of my dad. I would
not hesitate to recommend Astley View, and will definitely use them again for further respite stays/long term stays when required.

Definitely five star. Mum went in for respite over 3 weeks. I couldn't have asked for better care. The staff were very supportive and helpful. Mum had 24 hour care and was looked after so well in Astley view. The time she spent there gave family the respite we needed. I couldn't recommend them
enough. From the first meeting to assess her needs where Kristian came to her home and did a thorough job finding out about mum. She really took to him and opened up. When she was in Astley view everyone had time for her from Sharon who's team cared for her to Joy on reception who was a breath of fresh air. Wonderful place, bedrooms very modern and clean with en-suite that had all the amenities you would expect for someone with limited mobility. Lots of things to do if mum wanted to join in, although she wasn't always up to it.
Reply from Christina Durnan, Home Manager at Astley ViewThank you for your kind review. We are delighted that you have been happy with Mum's stay at Astley View - she really was a pleasure to care for and the team really appreciated being able to get to know her and support her during her respite stay. We look forward to seeing her again in the future for any short or long term stays when needed.

My 96 year old mum stayed for two weeks to enable us to go on holiday. She loved her room and the care given by all. She really enjoyed the activities such as the harpist musical afternoon, cinema afternoon, and games afternoon as well as socialising in the lounge areas. She really appreciated the weekly
hairdresser visit, too.
She said it seemed like being in a luxury setting, with excellent food and attention to detail.
By the end of her two weeks weeks she felt comfortable and relaxed with both staff and new friends. She is looking forward to a longer stay in May and feels this will become her forever home in the not too distant future. .
Reply from Christina Durnan, Home Manager at Astley ViewThank you so much for taking the time to submit a review of our home and team. Welcoming reception on arriving, and swift administration helping to settle in to room.
Certain adjustments needed to be put in place
for what my mother was wanting, but all smoothly in operation before long.

From the day I went to explore Astley View Care home for my mum (which I did without booking) Catherine on reception was really lovely - she made me feel completely at ease showed my round the facility and showed me a few rooms that were available. Her kind and friendly approach made me feel the care
home would be perfect for mum for short term respite care. When mum arrived the staff were friendly and supportive and due to complexities of mum's medication and follow up appointments they were really helpful in chasing things up or taking mum to appointments when I couldn't. Mum felt so at home there, she loved joining in the various activities/trips out - thank you to all the staff that helped her. An amazing lovely clean and friendly care home.

After visiting several other local care homes there was a clear winner for us. From the moment we walked through the doors, it just felt right. The staff are so friendly, from the carers to the laundry staff and chef.

Mum feels so well looked after and supported which gives us such peace of mind.

The facilities are great and there is a good range of activities, something for everyone.

Visiting mum is a pleasure, the time we spend together is quality time.

Our experience as a family was very good. Friendly and caring staff, good facilities & food. The most impressive thing was the care as the staff don't leave anything to chance and will air on the side of caution if they felt someone was not their usual self. Physical support was also very good.
Bedrooms were modern, and clean and the bathrooms were very well equipped for anyone with physical challenges. Unfortunately our dad was not very engaging during his 3 week stay but this was no reflection on the environment, staff or care.
Reply from Christina Durnan, Home Manager at Astley ViewThank you so much for providing a review of the care you experienced at Astley View. My mother in law moved into Astley view at the end of February 2025 and she is very happy there. As a family we do not worry about her care as we know she couldn't get any better.
Every member of staff we have come into contact with are friendly and helpful. They go above & beyond to ensure the residents
are looked after with respect and dignity.
The rooms are clean, spacious and beautifully decorated and the home is kept spotlessly clean. The food is so good my mother in law has gained weight and looks much better for it.
They have a fantastic activities team who keep the residents engaged and active. I always say they have a better social life than we do!
The home holds both resident and relative meetings where you can raise concerns, ask questions and make suggestions for improvements. We have attended these and seen all plans put into action which is great as you feel listened to.
If you're considering Astley View for your loved one, just do it you won't regret it.

If you are wondering if Astley View is the right care home for your relative then I can honestly say whole heartedly it is.
My Mum has been a resident for approximately 18 months, and myself a regular visitor.
She has been so well looked after, whether it is visits from district nurses, doctors visits,
help with her personal hygiene, medication given on time or her 3 meals a day plus cake and biscuits served every day.
The menu is varied and quite often when I visit I wish I was having what she's having. In particular the homemade soups which are delicious.
The staff are very friendly and also very good at their jobs. Nothing is too much trouble and the care and attention they give is very much appreciated. Regular teams work together on the same unit which gives continuity.
Lots of activities are organised and are very well attended. Activities range from a knit and natter session to a movie in the cinema or an interesting talk, plus music.
Would highly recommend Astley View

Our 95 yr old Mum stayed at Astley view last September for 3 weeks respite care. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay even though there was a covid outbreak. She likened the rooms to a 5 star Hotel. She said the food was excellent and the staff were very good with her, they really looked after her when she
was ill one day. She liked it that much that she wants to return in June God willing.

The transition from hospital in June to care home was difficult for mum with her Alzheimer's . The staff worked hard to help her settle and decisions for what was in mums best interest they included the family making us feel informed and involved. Special praise goes to Linda and the management team

Astley view is a great facility purpose built with space and comfort in mind .

We have been so relieved to experience such lovely care snd support for mum since her move into Astley View in August . So many kind staff ..helping mum but also having time to talk to us. It really has felt like a team effort. The home is beautiful. Clean .the residents all look well cared for and
it smells nice. I would like to mention some individuals...but it asks us not to...but everyone ftom receptionists to activity staff and carers have been wonderful. It is not an easy decision to take a relative out of the home they have lived in for nearly 60 years....but Astley View is the best we could hope for...so thankyou .

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

We’re excited to introduce Lancashire-born Christina, our newest addition to the Evermore family, who has taken on the role of home manager at Astley View. Her person-centred approach and passion for providing the best possible care are inspiring and perfectly mirror our values at Evermore. With 20 years of experience in elderly and dementia care under her belt, she will be spearheading the management of Astley View, our new Chorley care home. We sat down with Christina to find out more about her values and vision for Astley View. Let’s see what she had to say!

How do you think you can make an impact at Astley View?

I’m looking forward to bringing my decades of experience and my passion for offering the highest quality care for our residents to my new role at Astley View. My real passion is working in the dementia care sector and this is where I believe I can make a real impact. Having lots of experience managing dementia care homes, I’m excited to bring my wealth of knowledge to Astley View in order to make a real difference to the residents I care for, their loved ones, and my team. I’m keen to bring the community into the home and ensure that our residents continue to be a valuable part of it.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

The best thing about my job is meeting the truly incredible and inspirational people that cross my path. It is an honour to play such a vital role in the lives of others and to learn about what makes them who they are. I love being part of a team who are on hand 24 hours a day to offer expert support to those in need. A lot of the people we care for have lived lives that some of us can only imagine, hearing their stories and memories is such a privilege and the reason that I do what I do.

What are you most looking forward to about the new home?

As a Chorley-born girl myself the introduction of a brand-new state-of-the-art care home in my hometown is even more special. I’m looking forward to watching the huge benefit Astley View will have on both residents and the wider community. The home brings a wealth of opportunity for both the people who are seeking outstanding care facilities in Lancashire and for those looking to work in a high-quality care home for an amazing company that values and supports their team. We offer an excellent level of care, ensuring the residents have everything they need and more by working closely with their loved ones so they can rest easy knowing their family member is safe, comfortable and cared for. It’s exciting to see everything come together.

What’s your vision for Astley View?

My vision for Astley View is to create a home where each resident will receive individualised, bespoke care suited to their needs supported by compassionate staff who work autonomously and sensitively. I know that Astley View will be an outstanding place to work and live, where residents and staff will work together in partnership to create an atmosphere of warmth and respect. I am passionate about making every day a great day for both our residents and our team. I’m excited for the future of Astley View and know that as we move forward and grow, we will still offer the high-quality level of care that you can expect from Evermore.
