Pretty in pink

Members of the kitchen team at Brockington House were ‘in the pink’ after completing a run in aid of cancer research.

The pink race uniforms, mirroring the colours they wear at our home, were definitely in need of a good wash after Head Chef Cihan Wiltshire, Second Chef Ash Davies and Host Tyler Davies ran 5km through a muddy obstacle course in the Cancer Research UK Race for Life event in Cheltenham

The trio has set a fundraising target of £350 but ended up collecting £380.

Ash, who along with Cihan ran in a pink apron with Tyler wearing a pink waistcoat and tie, said: “We certainly stood out, at least at the start of the race before we ended up covered in mud!

“This is the second time we have taken part in the race and as well as raising money for such an amazing charity, we also use it as a team bonding exercise too.

“We had fantastic support from our family, friends, colleagues and the ladies and gentlemen who live at Brockington House and are already looking forward to our next fundraising challenge.”

Shann Thomas, Home Director at Brockington House, which is owned by Dormy Care Communities, said: “The kitchen team are a great bunch and are adored by our ladies and gentlemen at Brockington House. We are all very proud of them.”
