As part of this year’s BCG In Bloom competition, where we award the horticultural efforts of our teams and residents, we’re giving you a closer look at some of the entries.
The competition has six chances to win and there will be prizes for each of the following categories: Best Overall Garden; Most Innovative Use of Space; Outstanding Resident Gardener; Best Pot; Best Looking Vegetable and Most Improved Garden. Our Chief Executive and Managing Director will judge the final winner by visiting each home.
The team and residents at BCG Alastrean in Tarland, Aberdeenshire have been active in the garden all summer, with one resident in particular keen to make sure their harvest was bountiful!
Activities coordinator Megan shares: “Many of our residents have spent time in the greenhouse tending to out plants, but James Buchan has been out almost every day, making sure plants are watered and gathering any vegetables that are ready to be picked. He has previously won awards for his gardening efforts, so was keen to get going when he was told about the competition!”
