Boutique Care Homes is proud to announce that The Burlington in Shepperton has been shortlisted in two major categories at the 2025 Surrey Care Awards: Care Home of the Year and Champion of People and Progress.

This remarkable double nomination reflects The Burlington’s consistent dedication to excellence in both resident care and team culture. It also marks the fourth consecutive year the home has been shortlisted for Care Home of the Year, an honour it proudly won in 2022.

At The Burlington, care is more than a service, it’s a shared commitment to creating a warm and loving family where everyone feels at home. This is brought to life through deeply personalised support, strong community connections, and an award-winning approach to wellbeing and life enrichment.

In the Care Home of the Year category, judges acknowledged The Burlington’s people-first ethos and innovative thinking. A reimagined dementia bistro, bespoke digital onboarding portal, and award-winning activities programme are just a few examples of how the home tailors care to each individual. Survey results reflect this success, with 100% of residents saying they feel treated with dignity and respect.

Margie Gonzaga, Home Manager at The Burlington, shared her pride in the achievement; “To be named a finalist in not just one but two categories is incredibly meaningful. These nominations represent the heart and soul of our home, our residents, their families, and the exceptional team that supports them every day. We don’t just provide care; we create a true sense of belonging.”

The Burlington’s second nomination, for Champion of People and Progress, highlights its forward-thinking culture and strong investment in its team. Over the past year, the home has achieved a 98% retention rate, reduced agency use to just 0.02%, and embedded values-led initiatives like Mental Health First Aiders, WOW Moment recognition cards, and career development pathways.

Founder and Managing Director of Boutique Care Homes, Ameet Kotecha, added; “The Burlington exemplifies what it means to deliver care so good, it’s unexpected. Their ability to provide consistently high-quality care while fostering an empowered, happy team is exactly what sets us apart. I’m incredibly proud of Margie and the entire team for this well-earned recognition.”

The Surrey Care Awards, hosted by the Surrey Care Association, celebrate excellence across adult social care. Winners will be announced on Friday 8th November 2025 at Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking.

From a perfect 10/10 carehome.co.uk rating to being described as “a very happy place where there is much laughter,” The Burlington continues to raise the bar for what great care can and should be. One family member recently shared: “We looked at several homes, but Dad knew The Burlington was the one straight away.”
