This month’s Professionals Lunch at Barchester Ross Court, was marked by a special occasion: they had the pleasure of welcoming the local Mayor as their guest. Lindon Delves, the Mayor of Ross on Wye, joined staff, residents, and local professionals for an afternoon of conversation, connection, and freshly prepared food.

The Professionals Lunch at Ross Court is a monthly tradition, held on the third Wednesday of every month at 12:30 pm. The aim is simple yet meaningful: to bring together professionals from different walks of life—healthcare, education, community services, and beyond—for networking in a relaxed, homely setting. It also gives the residents of Ross Court the chance to meet new faces and feel part of the wider community.

On arrival, the Mayor was warmly welcomed by staff and residents before taking his seat. Everyone enjoyed a delicious home-cooked meal, lovingly prepared by the talented Head Chef. The menu featured a selection of seasonal dishes, each designed to showcase fresh, wholesome ingredients. The Mayor expressed his appreciation for the quality of the food, noting how much he valued the opportunity to share a meal that truly felt like home.

One of our residents, Ann, summed up the afternoon perfectly: “It was wonderful to meet the Mayor in person, a very pleasant young man! The lunch was delicious, and it makes me feel proud that people want to come and spend time with us.”

Next Professionals Lunch will take place on the third Wednesday of October at 12:30 pm, and all local professionals are invited to join for good food, great company, and a chance to connect.
