The community at Richmond Villages Nantwich have raised an impressive £2,000 for Sarcoma UK.
Katie Jones, a host (hospitality staff member) at Richmond Villages Nantwich assisted her mum, Melanie, who is bravely fighting stage 5 sarcoma cancer, to host a coffee morning. Melanie is motivated to keep busy and stay positive. In order to do so, Melanie, with the help of her daughter, Katie and other staff at the village, hosted a coffee morning at Richmond Villages Nantwich on Saturday 13th September.
Residents, staff, family members and friends all united for a special morning in support of the national charity Sarcoma UK. The charity is dedicated to funding life-changing research, offering support to patients and their loved ones, campaigning for better treatments, and raising vital awareness to drive lasting change. Many attendees baked sweets to sell, brewed coffee and served tea or attended and donated to this important cause to show support for Melanie. Through Melanie’s determination and the kindness of everyone who joined, they were able to raise an incredible £2,000 to donate to Sarcoma UK.
Melanie commented: "We are truly overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness shown to us. From the incredible support we received, to the abundance of cake and raffle donations, every contribution played a vital role in making the day such a success. We would especially like to recognise the exceptional hospitality, outstanding facilities and the warm, welcoming staff at Richmond Villages, whose efforts went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Our deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks go to everyone involved, it was a wonderful demonstration of community spirit, and we are so grateful to all who helped make the day so memorable.”
Head of Activities at Richmond Villages Nantwich, Jane-Ann Stubbs, added: “We are very proud of our community here at Nantwich and are incredibly proud to show our support for Melanie. Melanie’s drive and passion is inspiring, and we want to continue to support her, Katie and the rest of their family into the future and help her host more events at our village. “The support we received from the wider community was also incredible, and we hope to do more activities like this, where everyone can join.”
