Residents at Crandon Springs Care Home recently enjoyed a celebration of Doris Day, with music that brought Hollywood’s golden age into the home.
Firstly, a great afternoon with The Calamity Janes, a lively Country & Western duo inspired by Doris’s famous role in Calamity Jane. Their toe-tapping set of favourites, including Jolene and 9 to 5, had everyone clapping, singing, and sharing fond memories.
Then came a touch of silver screen magic with Emily from Mini Concerts who performed dressed as Doris Day. Her tribute show, featuring classics from Que Sera, Sera to Sentimental Journey, filled the home with nostalgia and joy, as residents swayed and sang along to the tunes they love.
As Home Manager Meg Cleal said: “These performances don’t just entertain, they spark treasured memories and bring our community together. Music provides a wonderful soundtrack to life at Crandon Springs.”
